I think the key is do what is easier *to you.* Like you said, if you practice the harder route, suddenly shifting to an 'easier' route will definitely be a gamble. Practice makes perfect is a cliche for a reason!

The tragedy. So much foresight to victory managing his gauge and then losing by dropping the easier route combo.

Watched this live, was rooting for itazan, I screamed at the whiffed lariat, I screamed when he perfect parried the drive impact, I screamed when his own drive impact connected and then got confused as I was supposed to be shouting and cheering at his comeback victory. Imagine a grown man with a cup of coffee standing and screaming at his tv on a rainy evening.

I was there too, rooting for itazan. Also I stayed at the same hotel as a bunch of those guys, I wished him good luck over breakfast. One of my favourite players, it was heartbreaking.
@PrincipalSkinner31904 ай бұрын
He didn't need to attempt a super combo at all. Hellstab into lariat would have killed Akuma.

honestly its kind of refreshing as a new player seeing pros drop the most basic combos lol

They decided to buff zangief in every other way expect for adding a hitbox so lariat can anti air behind him. Which I always thought was important to keep the oppotent at the wall and never let them out. Be the wall.

I often go with a character(Luke mostly) that I most rely on with and practice a combo (whether hard or easy) that I would mostly be familiar with. Itazan shoulda taken that to account and do a simple B&B combo that he knows and practice with rather than execute a combo he hardly does or even to showboat with in order to win. Hell I'm pretty sure with the amount of health Akuma has left he coulda just done lvl2 super into grab and finish him off right there and then. Still that was an impressive run for Itazan to make it into top 8 and made top 5th place in the tournament. I see why some players say Zangief is top tier tho I hardly believe he's top 5 as others say he is!

Personally, some times when I try to do his hellstab, it’s his medium punch that comes out 😅. Also why his double lariat can’t hit behind but Rashid’s spinning mixer hits on both sides?

USA looking free. No offline tournaments won since sf6 started when the global elite players attend in substantial numbers Heard lots of the Japanese are skipping CEO 2024 even though top 2 at CEO qualify for EWC. No xian, leshar, big bird, phenom or most of eu either. Might be a chance for someone from USA to win something I’m starting to think tournaments like combo breaker and ceo lost their importance now

@beam56554 ай бұрын
Punk and Du have been doing great, although they haven't got a big win yet. But stuff like 3rd at EVO isn't free. I agree with you about Combo Breaker though. It wasn't part of EWC or CPT, so not much incentive for pros to travel. CEO still has a good showing, although most of the top pros have already qualified for EWC.
