● In today's upload you'll get to see and hear the amazing Peugeot 905 Evo 1 that raced in Group C back in the early 90s. This beast is powered by the "SA35" engine; a 3.5 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine developed by Peugeot, which was able to produce 680hp at 12,500 rpm. This engine was compliant with the Formula 1 regulation of the time and it was used on the 1994 McLaren MP4/9 F1 car. The chassis and aerodynamic were built in collaboration with the French aeronautical company Dassault Aviation. The car has been filmed during the 2024 Mugello Classic by Peter Auto.

Agreed. The Mazda won One race and has additional fanfare due to the incorrect notion some have that the engine was banned after the Lemans race. The rule change happened long before that.

Only dominated because most manufacturers knew the rule change was stupid and Peuogot wanted a way to recover their home track after years of being dominated by German English and one Japanese car

I was fortunate to see the 905 at the 1993 Le Mans 24hrs. They looked epic, were super fast and they sounded sensational. Even though it didn't make the top 3, the Toyota TS010 was as equally stunning as the Peugeot.

Seeing this 905 makes me miss memories from Gran Turismo 4.... It even can rival cars like Mia Taylor's 2003 BENTLEY SPEED 8, Kasumin's XJR-9 LM 1988 and Ayumu Uehara's Sauber C9 in GRAN TURISMO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. 😭

Because the fastest racing car of all time was an LMP1 (and not a F1), the WR-Peugeot, in 1988...........422km/h at the 24h of Le Mans!! ! The 919 evo is considered the fastest LMP1 ever on the Francorchamp circuit. That said, the 919 evo is out of category since it is without FIA rules.
