Such an incredibly valuable video. Can i ask please, what is the role of the wrist on the forehand volley? Is it flexed or neutral? Is it kept firm throughout the swing? Or is flexible, kind of like used when you using a hammer to hammer a nail? Sorry for all the questions, I really struggle with this aspect of the forehand volley.

That depends on how good you are to be honest! And the speed of the incoming ball. You can do more with the wrist if the incoming ball is slow

I love the way that you bring your great personality to your videos. This was another super useful video. My coach is always telling me that my wrists are too floppy. I think that this comes from playing tennis where you can use wrist movement to take of pace or disguise your shot.

Nice tips Sven. My biggest mistake on the forehand volley ( from playing on the backhand side ) is my wrist moves into the wrong position on contact and the ball slides too much to my right toward the side /.glass .

Maybe you are playing left players corner too much when your body is too open? You could try to play more balls into the center or rotate more; so you don’t have to use the wrist

Hey coach, If you can please clarify more on having the racket more straight when you hit towards the fence. Do you mean straight = less open = more closed. Second when you open your racket do you use your wrist or you rotate the whole arm? Thank you in advance

More straight would be: the top of the racket is aiming at the sky. More open would be, the top of the racket is facing the fence next to you.

Hello coach, one question, i just removed my original basic grip, can i put any normal grip as my new basic grip? Or i must buy x-grip, shockout grip? Because i found that our stores in UAE don't have them, then decided to put any normal grip like wilson and then add over grips. Can i do it?

Many (pro)players remove the original grip and only use an overgrip (or multiple overgrips). There is no right or wrong answer. It is a matter of preference. Shockout / Hesacore grips help with comfort if you have an issue with that.

I don't think kick the ball on the top is a good idea, if that so you will probably send the ball to the net, however the others explanation are fine, good job!

Are you sure about 'never hit the bottom of the ball and always hit the top'. You often have to hit under the ball because the ball drops below net height, for a high volley you should hit the rear side of the ball, you had no footwork in your examples which caused the poor quality shots, not that you hit under the ball. Even in your correct example you hit the rear of the ball.
