All Peyton's rookie card prices are criminally under-priced.

Indy is a small market and a not overly popular by way of comparison team. And Peyton has detractors who straight up don't like him. Makes it easy for Colts fans to have a cool collection of an actual all timer though

I love these 90’s players. I got most of the base rookies for all these guys. I love looking through them.

Some of these 90's sets, especially the inserts, were awesome. Gallery of Heroes, Scoring Kings, Beam Team, Meltdown, Precious Metal Gems, the first refractors, and so much more. My favorite era. Even Pacific made really cool cards.

My dad got me a box of 1998 SP Authentic football for Christmas. I remember crying because there was supposed to be one auto per box but I didn't get one. I did get two rookies though, Peyton Manning and Randy Moss.

man if youre not old like me and you didnt collect in the 90s its probably very shocking to see just how many overprinted and worthless sets there are from that time period. i get reminded of that every time he does one of these videos.

Bledsoe & Vinatieri (only because he isnt yet eligible). 4 rings - 2 for Manning, 1 for Warner + 1 for Drew. This is the same number that Vinatieri has by himself. And for extra credit.... 16 total rings for the whole group! (+1 if you count E James getting one from Irsay after he left the Colts)

Sneaky answer with Drew being the backup in his. I didn't think about this too hard, I would have missed it and said 3. I think 9 total SB appearances between them.

Could you imagine if Peyton Manning played for the Patriots instead of Tom Brady? Peyton is my favorite QB by far. His ability to play the Game not only the Position.

Awesome list! I wasn’t paying much attention to football in the 90s so unless a name just hit the mainstream like Emmitt or Peyton, I don’t have much context for this. But this list offered a couple of new chase cards for me. Great rundown as always!
@ryanfitzgerald2816

The breakdown by position shows how few great QBs came from that era, as well as the fact that 90's collectors are far more intelligent than modern collectors who only speculate on QBs instead of greats from every position.

Awesome video! I'm slightly surprised by some of these cards on here but the numbers do make sense. Tons of nostalgia as well. That 96 SP set was one of the complete sets I picked up back in my college days. Crazy good checklist for that era; Terry Glenn, Eddie George, and Marvin Harrison not on the list was surprising from the player caliber standing, but considering the wild variation in products and quality through that decade it's understandable. I think SPx beat Contenders to the base card autos in the set, but just barely. Also an important note is I believe the Rookie Tickets were limited to 1625 print runs. Great list! My only gripe is Torry Holt wasn't on the honorable mention list; fastest WR to 10k yards at the time, set rookie record for SB receptions.

I think an interesting video would be comparing all time high prices for these players against current players. Example Jerome bettis most expensive card vs bijan Robinson or Kurt warners top card vs Justin Herbert. Comparing the actual accolades these players earned vs what people are pricing in potential future earnings and current young players. There were 6 qb’s taken in the first round this year, if they end up with the career of Drew Bledsoe it would be considered an amazing success but it would be a failure in the card world.

Pick your receiver: Player A: 218 games, 982 catches, 15292 yards, 157 total touchdowns Player B: 219 games, 1078 catches, 15934 yards, 156 total touchdowns Both these players had almost completely overlapping careers, had quarterbacks of similar ability throwing them the ball, and wore out their welcome in multiple NFL cities. Before you choose, remember that NFL teams would run the ball 40-45% of the time during this time. Consider this last fact: Player A was known to take running plays off and was basically booted off a team for not blocking on run plays. Player B was physical and tenacious while blocking on running plays, often sprinting 50+ yards downfield to clear a path for running backs. Player A is Randy Moss, Player B is Terrell Owens. Their receiving numbers are so close that you cannot fit a chewing-gum wrapper between them. One blocked and the other didn’t. Terrell Owens was a better football player than Randy Moss.
@david4077-d6x

Respectfully disagree, as would any DB that ever played against both. No disrespect to Owens he is in the top 5 greatest of all time but I have never heard an expression "You got Owensed" but I have heard the expression you got "Mossed"... Randy Moss changed the game by forcing teams to use safeties as cornerbacks to press Moss, and using corners at safety to catch up to him. Moss's dominance as a rookie, especially against the Packers, led the team to select defensive backs in the first three rounds of the 1999 draft. When it comes to overall raw talent for my money (straight cash homey) Randy Moss will always be the
@ThomasCourt-c2f
@ThomasCourt-c2f 6 сағат бұрын
@@david4077-d6xIf Moss was more talented then why don’t the career numbers bear this out? Moss’s rookie year was a monster one, but you know what else counts? His last year in Oakland where he barely cracked 500 yards in 13 games. He played half a season in Tennessee and caught six passes. That’s not a typo - Moss had six receptions in 8 games. Owens was productive in every city he played in - including Buffalo and Cincinnati at the end of his career. You are correct, defenses had to account for Moss’s speed on passing downs, but they didn’t have to worry about him on running plays. My point is still the same, Moss is above Owens on everyone’s list and in their mind - but Owens was a better football player because everything counts - not just rookie seasons, funny expressions, and paying fines with cash. Running plays count. Playing hard no matter what team you’re on counts.
