WOW! what a massive undertaking! While it was possible to see what is required for such a massive undertaking to work without a hitch, it was truely memorable and with fantastic segments, some with phenomenal creativity. The fantastic Eric in the cold open, several of the scripted award introductions, and the amazing above board videos (albeit, having 3 of them without tying them better to the dice tower was slightly weird) All hats off to you. I think you took on creating something truely massive, possibly a bit too large, but the end result was funny, fun, creative and memorable.

[Wonderland's War] The denizens of Wonderland are fighting for supremacy, By picking out the zones in which to battle for majority, I fill my bag with chips that guarantee superiority, While taking actions at the table of the Hatter's tea party. [Flamecraft] I've been a cutesy dragon going on a little shopping spree, To gather the ingredients required to enchant, you see, I spent three turns collecting necessary potions, meat, and bread, But watch my next-door neighbour then deliver all the stuff instead. [Blood on the Clocktower] I've been a Mathematician, Ravenkeeper, Slayer, Evil Twin, A Pit-Hag, Scarlet Woman, Sage, Philosopher, Librarian. In short I've found a plethora of challenge, strategy and cheer, In playing each and every instance of the best games of the year. [Heat: Pedal to the Metal] When zooming down the race track, my efficient route is very plain, As I surpass my rivals, and I shift into the passing lane, This isn't time to play it safe, and so I must say "What the heck!", And make a daring move that transfers all the Heat cards to my deck. [Return to Dark Tower] The tower glows with evil, shadow wolves infest the countryside, When skulls corrupt the sanctuary, lesser heroes run and hide, I gather my advantages so I defeat our foes with ease, Pardon while we take a break while I replace the batteries. [Planet Unknown] I've searched the lazy Susan for a perfect polyomino, Then wondered where upon my fledgling planet that next piece will go, In short I've found a plethora of challenge, strategy and cheer, In playing each and every instance of the best games of the year. [Ready Set Bet] When betting on the horses, I've discovered timing is the key, While playing with the app, or someone rolling two dice frantically. If you spend too much time to calculate the probability, Another player's betting chips will beat yours to the board, you see. [Wayfarers of the South Tigris] I hoard Land and Water Tags, and race across the Journal Track, Then claim another Space Card before taking all my own dice back. [Foundations of Rome] I enjoy the sense of building up the Roman streets myself, Even if the game box takes up an entire Kallax shelf. [Endless Winter] I've taken on the role of palaeolithic creatures out of myths, To build all of my player boards, camps, villages and megaliths. In short I've found a plethora of challenge, strategy and cheer, In playing each and every instance of the best games of the year.

It was a wonderful production and seeing it now, I'm a little sad I didn't attend in person. I have to say though that I'm a little underwhelmed at the nominees for Best Solo Game. Only one of them is arguably a solo game. Where's Resist!? Where's Final Girl Season 2?

It's a shame that Blood on the Clocktower isn't being more recognised for what it's done for the hobby. Ready Set Bet can be fun but certainly has not had the same impact for bringing people together. Of course Social Deduction isn't everybody's cup of tea, but you have to respect the fact that Clocktower gets oversubscribed at every convention in the US and UK, with event meet-ups and online games arranged on a national scale, and No Rolls Barred playthroughs funded on Kickstarter. I've made some good friends by way of just playing Clocktower together, and I know of many others who have done the same. Ready Set Bet, meanwhile, is already being forgotten in most quarters.

Foundations of Rome winning best production value when it costs $250 for it to be impressive against Endless winter which is an absolute steal at $60 is probably the biggest snub in this award show. Flamecraft winning best art over Wonderlands War being a close second...
