Welcome to the spring thunder club! Definitely a lot to this blaster and mine has seen many changes/improvements before coming into its own. That sniper barrel with singled half darts can do 240 fps on mine...thanks for the shoutout!

2:39 One reason it may be so loud is because you are dry firing it. I suggest (even when you are only showcasing the shell ejection) to load it so it does not dry fire. Not only will it reduce sound but will maintain your blasters well-being

I'd love to own one of these if it weren't for three things: 1. The price. I'm willing to spend a lot of money on Nerf stuff, but $185 for a single blaster that doesn't even come pre-assembled is too much. 2. Having to cut down Mega darts. From what I've heard, they're not cheap. And last I checked, money doesn't grow on trees. 3. Its firepower. I do appreciate good performance on a blaster, but it shoots a bit too hard for my liking. I play indoors a lot, and I don't want to risk denting the wall or breaking someone's skin with a Nerf dart.

buzz bee toys had a double barrel blaster that ejected the shells with a spring when opened. i think all their blaster that used shells had an ejecting feature actually, including the lever-action rifle blaster.

I used to have a shell ejecting airsoft shotgun (APS CAM870 Police version, MK.1), and it had feeding issues too occasionally. One thing I noticed that helped with it was pushing the pump forward with speed, if you pushed it too slow, that's when I got most chambering issues. Also from the ergonomic standpoint, the rail at the rear needs to go. There's no purpose for one there, and might end up hurting your cheek with it there.

1:58 I would point out the spring thunder outright isn't meant for a younger demographic. There's an explicit warning in the documentation for it that the bolt slamming down on your finger is can be strong enough to injure it. This is definitely meant to be a big boy toy.

It might be messing up because you were shooting left handed. Even if a miner difference it would still be enough to move the shell over a little from gravity and stop the chambering; that could also correlate to the ejecting issues. My main theory for this is that in other reviews the right handed shooters either didn’t mention it, or if they did, they didn’t experience as much of it.

I like how you talk about the sound, but can you let us hear all the noises the gun makes so we can get an idea of what to expect. Sometimes blasters can be a lot louder than I expect from the prime to loading to firing and it would be nice to know what times I could comfortably use blasters without annoying anyone. Plus its Gun ASMR that would be awesome. But good video with a lot of details. Edit: That might have been confusing so to avoid any confusion, I would just think like doing all the actions with the blaster but at full volume without any commentary and show all the sounds it makes i.e. rattles, prime sounds, loading sounds, firing sounds but at its full volume (and maybe like a decibel screen, just an idea)

I know someone has probably already said this, but the ejection and feed issues are quite common with left-handed shooters using right-handed pump-action firearms, I would assume that the same issues would carry from real steel to nerf. That said, I could be completely wrong.

I think most of the jamming issues were due to your left hand grip as it slightly angles the gun away from the ejection port. A right handed user most likely wouldn't have that issue.

The argument for its shorter distance in performance that can be said the same for a real shotgun: It’s a shotgun. Shotguns are not rifles, both assault and sniper, they’re made for more close-quarters combat in mind. I suspect that having a gun that has spread in small close corridors or locations being much more effective than a rifle, thanks to getting the opposition in a surprise shot. That said, the Spring Thunder is more of a niche blaster. If anything, you’d be buying it because of your play-style requiring multiple targeting in a single shot. Also, it’s fun to use but expensive to import (it costs close to £70 on shipping alone). I guess the versatility of having multiple ammo types for one gun massively does give you an advantage, but it falls flat outside of Rival rounds (which I tend to see more like shotgun slugs anyway with the casing) due to the aforementioned low distance. Just something I wanted to type here, mostly to satisfy my taste for function-first blasters.
