Those were great! And I have a soft spot for late-70s comic book art. It's just so comfy. The hardest ones to find are late-70s horror and sci-fi movie cups from 711 that had an iron-on patch on the bottom. Those seemed to have disappeared off the face of the planet.

Those cups are prohibitively, impossibly expensive now. Because those cups can't withstand 2 trips through the washing machine. You would have to get it and immediately wrap and box it.

It would’ve been cooler if they had one of Wolverine by himself, but the one with all of the X-Men on it is pretty cool.

I fondly remember the Spider-Man cup. They don't do them now, I think, because of ebay. The scalpers just buy out everything within a day, like the plastic cups they had a couple weeks ago at McDonald's. Those things had Jurassic Park, Hamburgler, TETRIS, Minions and all sorts of things mixed together, but they were released on a Friday, and sold out by Saturday morning. They are selling for $20 a pop right now vs. the retail of $2 if you bought a Big Mac or McNuggets meal.

Phenomenal memories just came flooding back!!! You’d ride your bike with the banana seat down to 7’ve, score some Star Wars wax pack’s and that months issues of everything off the spinners only to top it all off with a collector cup slurpee! Those were the days!

7-11 is where I bought all the Star Wars trading cards and fold-out-to-poster magazines in the late 70s.

I remember having the Black Widow cup as a kid in Florida in the 70's. I never knew there were classic Power Man and Quicksilver cups. They're two of my favorite Marvel characters.

Yes, I had a few from '75. Plastic man , The Thing, Wolverine, Cyclops and a few more. Yes riding our bikes about 5 miles to try and get the newest one every week or so ! Don't forget the Wacky Packs at the same visit !

Speaking of, spinner racks would make a good topic. Their importance & why they went away. I can't think of a single business example like that. Pepsi doesn't pull out of grocery stores to focus on small specialty soda hubs. I didn't know what they existed until I bumped into a rack. Whole new worlds opened up.

First comic I bought was off a 7-11 spinrack, I also remember having Spider-Man, Hulk, Captain America and a Human Torch cup from this collection. My mom had a Thing cup that survived for years til it got lost in a move.

They look unique because they had very obscure characters on the cups I did stumble upon these on eBay one day 😯
@shanester183211 күн бұрын
Why are these so cool? I could print anything on a cup now in high detail, special materials, but it wouldn't be half as cool as these cheap plastic cups.

Cause you couldn’t make them at home in 1975

Still have my collection of the marvel cups . I did have a lot of the glasses too , but some got broken and then when we moved they got left behind .

I never had these, but I wanted them. I think they came out before I was born. I saw them at conventions. Speaking of which, Johnathan Frakes said an early job of his was dressing up as Captain America and promoting slurpees at 7-11. If we're talking spider man's mom, I guess that would be aunt may. The Marisa Tomei version was pretty hot 😁🤣😂🤣
