Years ago, back when I was considering being a review youtuber (I wrote an script or two but never filmed anything), I thought a cool gag during my review of this film would be making trading cards of the five or six main characters and the joke would be that the text on each card would include 3 categories: name, superpower and *trauma,* because all the character have either a tragic backstory or a current problem that bums them out. Also, the subtitles on the version of the film I watched where obviously translated by a random fan, so it wasn't clear if the speedy dude with the blades had a dead brother or a dead sister, and I thought that would made his trading card funnier
@jampine82682 ай бұрын
That's actually a pretty funny ideas for a lot of franchises, particularly tryhardy/poorly written ones. Trauma itself is definitely not a bad character aspect, see Batman for example, but it is often used a crutch for bad writers trying to add cheap depth of characters with minimal effort.

Damn, you were NOT lying when you said it was a huge leap forward in production for this channel. It maintains the same shitpost-y essence that all the previous videos had, but you can absolutely tell that your ability to work a narrative into it (I REALLY liked how you foreshadowed the second part of the video while summarizing the movie) has massively improved, and the editing is, obviously, top notch. Fucking fantastic work, Flor, if this is your way to truly come back (knowing how long this was in the works for lol) then it's a FANTASTIC way to do it!

As a russian I can say that our cinema is - mostly - bad There are good even great russian films (from what i've heard - i've mostly seen bad) , but most often you will find just some kind of slop. The only good and modern russian film I can recomend is Major Grom (Майор Гром) which is solid 7/10 (IMO). You can also go watch old soviet films. They are really good Generally, modern russian films are films with cool concepts but bad, terrible excecution: terrible writting, terrible cinematography (IMO), not a glimpse of characters being an actual character. Even cartboard characters from different media feel like an ocean next to russian character-puddle. Russian producers/script writes/directors, like, have a cool idea, but don't understand how to or willing to develop/execute them. Somehow costumes can be neat. And of course, as a true traditional conservative country we are, our films are PATRIOTIC with lots and lots of TRADITIONAL VALUES. That's why most of the heroes of modern russian kino are egoistical idiots. I hate it, but my mother loves going cinema and sometimes makes me go with her. One of such idiots were from "Holop 2" ("Peasant/Slave" - Холоп), sequal of "Holop". I haven't seen the first film but oh well. The story in a few words: the main character (Natalya i think?) is a spoiled rich brat who is being gaslighted that she was brought back in time to 1812 (she of course believes). Why she is being gaslighted? Well, to make her learn being a better person why showing what real work is like or something along the lines of that. And to make her redeem herself, learn her lessons, they (people who are gaslighting her) are acting up that she must sacrifice herself in the fight against Napolean. Like a TRUE PATRIOT for her MOTHER, FRIENDS AND THE MOTHERLAND. She of course doesn't do it at first because she likes France and wouldn't mind potentially changing the course of history Oh and they've also, like disney, remade a live action of an old cartoon. It was a funny musical cartoon about love and comradary. In film they've putted a rap song there, added a few new song which stick out as a sore thumb compared to old songs, and the main sad song about love was sung during MAIN CHARACTERS WERE BURNING ALIVE IN THE NAILED WAGON So yeah it's bad

every time I watch videos like this I feel sick. I think about how people from other countries, after watching movies like this, actually start to think that in Russia everyone drinks only vodka, walks around with a Kalashnikov and a tame bear. almost all cinema in Russia is sponsored by the state, and if an order comes from above to make a "Russian answer to Marvel", then filmmakers have to do it. however, this is not the only problem with this film. if you watch all the works of Sarik Andreasyan, the director of the film (by the way, you can watch an analysis of his films on the Chuck Review KZbin channel), you will understand that he is simply a bad director, he would have been fired by any film company. however, in Russia there is simply a shortage of directors, and no matter how bad the films of this person are, and many others, they will remain in the film industry. if you want to see a good Russian film, then I advise you to watch Major Grom, not sponsored by the state, by the way. I wish everyone to watch more good films and less bad ones. sorry for the google translator
