We have a term in Irish - 'Anam Cara'. It literally translates to 'soul friend' and it describes those people in life who, if you're lucky enough to meet them, have a spirit that's inextricably taken by and linked with yours. The bond between Anam Chairde is beautiful, intense and totally easy and natural, not affected by age, gender, distance, or external qualities. I'd like to think that's what they've found in each other

I thought the same.thing.. The way it's the sung in past tense...it's a beautiful song. I too played it over and over, at least 25 times today. This single.actually came out the week before. I like to think that it's a nostalgia thing though. Matt and Co. we're in their late teens when they started writing songs. Now they are older and this is looking back at their beginnings. It's more a call of wishing to be young again and basically saying I would do it all over again. You can see this in their songwriting that has matured. This is simply an ode to it...youth...
@qwertyyyyyyyyyyyyy4 жыл бұрын

This song is so good, there’s not enough songs about guys loving eachother, not even in a romantic way but just as friends.

I lived in a boarding school when I was high schoolers in 2016. I lived in a dormitory with my friends. We lived together, we tried our best to understand each other tho at that time we were so young. I supposed to live there with my roommates for 3 years, but in the 2nd year I was diagnosed with tuberculosis and I had to move. Now every time I listen to this song. I’m always grateful to had moments with my friends and roommates. I’ve learn a lot from them. They were my friends and now we are still keep in touch, we are family.

This video is so cute it really makes me miss my friends right now i think we take a lot of things for granted when there not right in front of us. remember to always show love and care to your friends cause they will be there for you.

Anyone else just grinning through the whole thing? Especially the clips when they were just little babies in their parents' living rooms? Also I just love how genuine this is. No irony, no cynicism. This feels like a song written just for the band and it's not trying to be anything else.

I think the reason this is so emotional is because it is so incredibly difficult in adulthood to stay close with the best friends of your youth, and they managed to pull it off. I love it and I'm jealous.

i first “found” the 1975 when the music for cars EP was released, one of my friends had told me about it and said that she thought i would really like it. I was a freshman in highschool, in a new environment with a new group of friends and generally felt like an outsider or an observer of all the things going on around me. i want to say this was spring or summer of 2013. skip to now, ive just graduated college and am an even bugger fan of the boys. I actually studied psychology and music and how the two were related, my senior thesis was about Matty and how him talking about his struggles with addiction, grief, depression and anxiety has helped me and a whole lot more people. because of this thesis, i got accepted to one of the best psych grad programs in the US! pretty crazy what a band can do for a 13 year old kid.

I discovered them through radio when chocolate was playing and it still had the soft spot in my heart it was when they were promoting their first studio album that i got into them and never regretted my decision they are really there with their musics with various type of situation to overcome every type of shits. HONNE, The 1975, Coldplay are my three soulmates in music.

I am a total metal head, love me the classics too, raised on 90s music... but these "Guys" have been my favorite band since 2013 since i heard the first album full through. There is something so real and true to their song writing and musicianship that you cant find with other bands of the last 20 years, love em and cant wait to see them on this tour

if you’re a big romantic you might like Cigarettes After Sex. they have a similar sound but more soft. the singer and songwriter is so genuine and writes all of his songs from real experiences with real people. pretty special music
