Feels like one of those songs you listen to in the car when you're returning to the place where you were born after moving away. It brings comfort, cosiness, almost like a warm hug on a cold day. My favourite song from the album, a masterpiece.

I initially thought that this song and About You should be swapped around just because of the way About You sounds. Then I realised that if About You is the sad nostalgia and reminiscing of a past love, When We Are Together is the person that pulls you out of the depression hole you fall into and does mundane, random shit with you to help you feel present again, helping you to look to your future and not your past.

This song is so amazing. It reminds me of my past relationship. She was super fun, full of energy, smart, witty, funny, knew how to love me, got me out of my comfort zone, and so so pretty… at the same time if she was having a bad day she would take it out on me, fights would get toxic, sometimes bring me down about things and make me walk on eggshells if I wanted to get something off my chest so I would compromise to stop the conflict, sometimes manipulative and would test me too. It sucks because there was the highest of highs and lowest of lows. But I can’t help but think of the little things like my own version of “asking about the cows, wearing my sweater” and the warm feeling I’d get by being with her. I know that I’m only holding onto the thought of the good times and keeping those in my mind, but I know that’s only the perception of what I have of her - when in reality that’s not the case, she wasn’t sincerely good to me when it came down to it. On my birthday she posted on her story with another guy at a dinner who she’s now dating instead, which was only weeks after we ended things. And still despite all this, sometimes I can’t help finding myself thinking about how I’d feel better if she just came over, didn’t say a word, and we just cuddled on the couch.

i think that’s my first time sobbing right after i hear the first line.. the whole song is quite literally a masterpiece. and ever since i discovered the 1975 in oh my god 2015 tumblr era, i’ve been evolving sorta with them, but this…. i don’t even want to think about other upcoming albums, this one is the most sincere thing i’ve heard in ages. thank you, bravo!

I can imagine this sound to be in an indie film where the character moves out of their hometown to go to a big city to start anew, driving away from their home. At the end there's a few seconds of instrumental where flashbacks of memories start kicking in. This song feels very nostalgic.

I feel like at that time Matty was looking for love, support and fulfillment outside of himself. He made that girl his rock but the truth is that he is his own rock and all that he was trying to find and catch is in himself. I love the honesty in the lyrics and the melody suits it really well. Also the whole vibe of the Song feels like its snowing outside and like its christmas time - „the moment was really catched” and transformed really nice with a purity of itself. Sending Lots of love to the guys and wishing you a lot of selflove from heart 💕

I heard the lyric "central park is seaworld for trees" as an Australian who's never been to NY, but like anyone anywhere on earth, has seen plenty of movies and shows based in NY. After hearing this lyric for the first time yesterday, a show I was watching featured an aerial shot of Central Park and I had to gape in amazement at how much that lyric resonates and rings true for me. Artesian apartment with osmosis process in the water system. osmosis, the spontaneous passage or diffusion of water or other solvents through a semipermeable membrane (one that blocks the passage of dissolved substances-i.e., solutes). The process, important in biology, was first thoroughly studied in 1877 by a German plant physiologist, Wilhelm Pfeffer. Earlier workers had made less accurate studies of leaky membranes (e.g., animal bladders) and the passage through them in opposite directions of water and escaping substances. The general term osmose (now osmosis) was introduced in 1854 by a British chemist, Thomas Graham.
