I ❤ the 1978 to 1982 model year Pontiac Lemans or Grand Lemans. One of my favourite car body styles! Been inside one as a kid.The joys of youth! 😊

Beautiful cars (but I like the Grand Prix of the same years better). My friend's dad had a 1979 Grand LeMans 4 door sedan in that very popular light blue with the matching blue cloth interior. Was a very nice car for the times and the interior was so luxurious and that dashboard was the icing on the cake. The car had most of the options, including the power rear vent windows.

@@milfordcivic6755 agreed. Thank the us government for mandating higher fuel economy while at the same time mandating very strict emission rules. We are lucky they made anything at all as the mandates were requiring improvements faster than the technology could be developed to achieve them.

Kinda diggin' on the 2 tone coupe with the Landau vinyl roof and color keyed wheels. It was almost Grand Prix-ish. Probably cost as much as a Grand Prix with all those options.

I thought the intro was going to be a clip from Smokey and the Bandit 2, when Jackie Gleason was driving a Bonneville chasing after the Bandit and knocked the roller coaster down. "Make a right turn Daddy, make a left turn Daddy, we be in the clear. YOU MOOSE TWIT!!!"

Very cool. Still have my First car i got at 12 or 13, I can't remember but a 1979 Pontiac LeMans base car, 3.8 v6 and ac only option it has. Glacier blue metallic and Light blue interior making it very hard color combo to find nowadays. all original. Very good classy looking cars... better than the olds and malibu in my option.

@@SchnelleKat But it's against the law to be 12 years old and driving. Ah yes, you drive on a dirt field. Still horribly irresponsible. But not just driving, you were "given a car as a gift" at 12. All this adds up to horrible parenting by giving a high value gift (even $200 is high value for a child) to a kid. If anything it's called being total douchebag parents. What other things did they enable you with back then to make you act so entitled today?

My dad bought an ‘80 Grand Lemans used in 1987. Light gray with a dark blue interior. A stylish comfy car. But even with the optional 301 V8 ‘performance’ was a joke, like most other cars of the era. Same goes for the usual rust around the rear window. Also, the rear vent windows had a way of trapping moisture, creating rust holes underneath. The moldings on the bumpers had screws in them because the factory glue became loose. Overall a poor fit & finish. The front seatbelts never locked, not even on hard stops, something I have noticed on other GM cars too. He still drove that car for 9 years🙄

@@DM-hk8gz Seventh generation (1982-1986)The Bonneville nameplate didn't go anywhere following the discontinuation of full-sized Pontiacs and instead was simply swapped onto the midsized LeMans, which also suffered from poor sales.

@@paulparoma At the end, GM's Pontiac division was making junk. I had a 99 Grand Damn that was the worst vehicle I have ever owned. If I jacked up the rear of the car to rotate the tires, the body had so much flex that I couldn't open the rear doors or close the trunklid.
