In 1984, the federal government asked VIA Rail Canada to study if high-speed rail could be a viable option in some parts of Canada. The study found that high-speed passenger trains with speeds up to 300 km/h were an option for the Toronto-Ottawa-Quebec City Corridor. Other parts of Ontario, Quebec and Alberta could have improvements also in higher-speeds.
40 years later, will we finally get high-speed trains in Canada? To read the complete 1984 study and for more information go to High Speed Rail Canada - www.highspeedrailcanada.com
