The sustain is amazing on the bridge pickup! That's the best sounding bridge pickup Ive heard lately! That thing sounds dirty and nasty! Thanks man.

Well it is the Frankenstein plus! I didn’t get much time to play it but on Sunday I hope to play it a bit. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching!

Great Kramer! She is lucky to have you take care of her. Zimm's just loves you! :)

Haha, she’s happy and will be happier here soon. I’m replacing the pickups. Zimm’s is ALWAYS a great hang. He’s a good guy. Thanks for watching Holly!

You really cleaned that one up, looks great. Love your guitar collection, and I bet there's a story behind all of them. How about you show us your collection and tell us some stories about them. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to hear some stories. I would love to go to your friends' guitar shop, but I live in Kentucky, a bit far for me to travel.
@40gritguitars2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Joe Bonamassa says that you buy the story, not the guitar. I usually don’t buy retail so there usually is a story behind the chase. There was a time when I constantly chased the deal or the guitar. Not so much anymore. I’ve shared stories in the majority of my walk arounds. If you haven’t, please check out my other videos! Zimm’s guitars is a great place to hang. It takes me back to the days of hanging out at a real guitar shop. Thanks for watching!

I’m betting that’s a 1986, with the smaller block logo, non-recessed Floyd and the wood screw posts. All of those changed right at 1987, Stingle could probably verify that transition more exactly. A little trick I use on Floyds? If I’m not removing them and tearing them down, I use 3in1 Oil on an old toothbrush!! Gets right after those rusty parts. Matter of fact, even if I do a complete tear down I still use the 3in1/toothbrush method! Lol I still have 2 of the old style metal/tin cans of the oil, if you remember those?! Cool guitar. That Floyd is the crown jewel of the whole outfit. 🤘

Yea Robbie said 87. It’s somewhere in there. I soak in WD40 and hit with a toothbrush. If the lock blocks are worn I replace. It cleaned up quite well. Thanks for watching!
@robbiestingle76402 ай бұрын
While it's true at the Kramer Factory the block logo transitioned to the pyramid logo in early 87 Focus made by esp in Japan ( and never going to NJ) was behind in that aspect. Not all went to recessed routes either . The quality on Focus declined in 87 also . It is possible it's a late 86 though
@Metalcop51502 ай бұрын
@@robbiestingle7640 That’s what I figured, that the import series didn’t follow the ‘American’ guitars timeline. I lost all interest in Kramers when they went to the huge descending logo and recessed trems etc. It seems like they quickly lost touch with what made them successful. Holoflash finishes, Savant metal loaded guitars?! It was all a bunch of gimmicks, to me. 🤷🏻♂️

You can’t beat a vintage Kramer or Focus guitar. The 80’s Floyd’s are the best. Great guitar 40 Grit 💯

Great guitar. I sense some EVH tear out MIM pickups heading into this one. Thanks for watching Mikey!

I have the almost exact guitar except mine is a 85 STRIKER 200st I don't have access to the truss rod without removing the neck and my Floyd doesn't have the string locks. Dual humbuckers and gloss black. Still in the original leather gig bag. Got it when I was 15.

From what I've read up on I think the focus 1000 and up series had Schaller pickups in them. My focus 3000 has the headstock issues where it starts warping up. I have seen someone online able to steam it straight so I will be trying that out soon.
@40gritguitars2 ай бұрын
I don’t think these are Schaller. I know what you are speaking of. No warping on this one yet. I wish you good luck on your repair. Let me know how it goes!

Just a different way of putting angle on a neck. Ultimately, the best way to put angle in a pocket is to sand angle into it. Thanks for watching!

Very COOL Kramer!!! what is a "slammer nut"?
@40gritguitars2 ай бұрын
Early era of the nut. I believe it’s called that because of the strong radius. Robbie would be a better person to ask on that….

The floyd is worth more than the guitar today.
@40gritguitars2 ай бұрын
It could very possibly be! Thanks for watching!
@daviddonaldson59082 ай бұрын
Is the floyd completely flat on the body and dive only? I have an EVH with a top mount floyd which is dive only but it sits back at an angle. If I set it flat it would pull out the trem posts first time I divebombed with it!
@40gritguitars2 ай бұрын
The back of the Floyd rests level to the body. No block. It landed perfect. If your posts are pulling out I would pull out the inserts and epoxy them in.
