Great Video.. Had one in '88 with the big bore kit.. Fake moped title.. Many tickets on it.. Cops knew it was NOT a moped, and a 15 year old couldn't legally drive it.. Last straw was when I passed a car, on the right, on one wheel, over the railroad tracks.. That was the end.. Party lasted about 4 months.. Police escort with a 2 mile walk back to my house.. Great, great times..... 🏁🇺🇸🏁

I had the exact same ysr50 color yr... old memories ....I paid $750 back in 1995 me and my brother paid half with our paper route money....what a blast I wish I still had it...had toomey pipe and dyno jet kit on it did 50+ mph...and my old buddy bought a brand New one at Archie’s in New Bedford was I wanna say 1992 left over back then and paid $1250 his color was black red gray color

0:23 That is exactly why I drive a miata and prefer small displacement/middleweight motorcycles. redlining something around a bend on every on ramp and putting my tires to the limit is way more fun that being stuck in 2nd gear on a liter bike. I have a scooter I use when I am just making quick trips around the city and don't feel like putting on gloves and a helmet and warm up my bike to go a couple blocks and I swear I have almost as much fun leaning that thing until it scrapes flat out around a 90° turn while still being under the speed limit than I do on my motorcycle at proper speed looking out for cops and trying not to die. Sometimes it is fun to just get silly on something you are 20 years too old for lol.

This guy gets it!!!! Took me into my 30s to figure the small wheel and displacement thing out. Not only are they WAY more fun, they're cheaper too. The thought has crossed my mind more times than I care to admit to sell my litre bike for a fleet of minis. Also found dirt this year..... What have I been doing with my life!

@@easley421 I was 33 and already daily driving motorcycles when I first stepped on a dirt bike and feel the same way... what have I been doing with my life. Dirt bikes are by far the most fun thing I have ever done. Makes my street bike feel like a grocery getter hahahaha

If you told 20 something year old me that I'd look at my 1000 RR and say "naaaahhh, I'm riding this 250CC because it's WAAAAY more fun" I would have called you a lying melonhead. That's probably the best part about getting older though. Not giving a f*** if someone sees you on the moped. When Guys like me see you, we know exactly how much fun you're having. Knee down?!?! EVEN BETTER!

I'm actually having a custom MX80 built right now and were using a YSR head on the motor turning into a high compression engine. Best pert is those old Yamahas are bulletproof.

This is the least rare 50 shifty in the states and it always commands the most money. It’s also not a very good 50 shifty when compared to the others like the Aprilia RS50, Derbi GPR50 and the Honda NS50
