What's wild to me is that "Calm Down Grandma!" article... she was the same age as Taylor Swift now. Imagine someone writing an article right now about Taylor and calling her a grandma. The ageism was insane.

I know I’ve said this in another one of your videos but I absolutely love the variations of genres that showed up. There really was something for everyone which was what made these award shows so enjoyable. It was interesting to see what artists hang out together. It’s also enjoyable to have the tv cross over. MTV really was something else. Also fun story the boy who played Jeremy in pearl jams video (not the actual kid just the actor who portrayed him) used to live in an apartment in Manhattan that I’ve been to a few times. Great guy, I miss him- rest in peace. Thank you for bringing the supporting pop culture moments. I don’t think I would have lived right without seeing ru Paul dragging joy bayer on the view.

The apex of the VMAs in my opinion - especially Miss Jackson's epic performance to close the show - wow! Feels like it was only yesterday, my teen self would get so excited to watch the VMAs - I miss the 80s & 90s so much - but grateful I grew up in such an amazing era of music, fashion, movies, TV, & music videos!! I thought it was ingenious how they mixed together different TV shows for the nominations - SO 90s AND SO RAD!! **Where did you find this copy of the show? I've been searching for years and the only one I can find is dubbed in German. I used to have a VHS recording of the 93 & 94 VMAs - but I lost it!! I'd love to relive the magic and memories of the '93 VMAs - Can you share the link to the source taping? If not, at least I can watch your hilarious reaction to it and fill in the gaps from memory - LOL

Fun Fact: Bob Odenkirk star of the hit show Better Call Saul, back at this time was a writer. He wrote for the Ben Stiller Show, SNL, and would create the show "Mr. Show with Bob and David" 2-3 years after this VMAs. Look closely at the credits when the bee girl is dancing around 18:39 -18:42. I guess Bob helped write some of the funny things.

Yo Tabatha’s hair looked crazy from the back!!! When’s she’s interviewing Mariah Carey, there’s a shot of the back of her head, and the layers are so bad. It looks like a mullet with a bob on top of it.
