Axl made many homophobic comments back in the 80s and 90s (explanation not excuse - Axl has history of childhood SA and I believe at is a diagnose schizophrenic. Like many misguided people of his generation, he channeled that into homophobia) He also had many high profile DV incidences with his partners. Kurt was a feminist with a great deal of hatred for homophobia after growing up seeing his mother being abused and having a very close relationship with his sister who is gay. He tried to just ignore Axl asking them to go on tour but after he started to feel insulted by Kurt, Kurt started publicly stating how he felt about Axl. Apparently Kurt and Courtney shared a similar odd sense of humor and the whole “shut up bïtch” thing was very funny to them.

The beef between them was Kurt’s fault💯 he had every right to not wanna perform with them due to his own beliefs and have his own opinions on them but to publicly bash them simply because he didn’t want to perform started their beef. @Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaidАй бұрын
@_tia.no.tamera You're kidding me, right? 'Has his problems'? That's what you say when someone has a bad habit and does themselves damage. But once someone's words or actions hurt others, it is not only acceptable but desirable that others stand up to them and stop them. Axl was homophobic, and Kurt was showing support to the LGBTQ+ community. Also, you're saying Kurt should have kept his opinion to himself and moved on. Again, this might have been true if Axl only spoke about Kurt and it was something personal between them; but Axl was speaking against an entire community. It was not just about the 2 of them, it was about people all over the world, so saying Kurt should have kept it private is ridiculous. In this instance, not saying anything about it would be like agreeing with what Axl's saying (or at the very least, it would come off as agreeing with this). Are you saying we should let injustice keep occurring and let people hurt others just to avoid conflict?

I mean, I love Weird Al’s work (I’m self-described as white and nerdy so I kind of have to 😂), and it is a hilarious video, but there is no way he could’ve won over one of the biggest tear jerking songs of the entire decade.
