I want to know why nobody brings choice scarf sets to these 1v1 battles? Because as far as I know the unexpected gouging fire versus walking wake sets with choice scarf (hiding the stat boost) would turn the tides almost instantly.

@@dracomenace it’s less functional but scarf on fire would still hold merit, countering common sets such as the less common speed boosting iron crown, demolish the sableye leads with trick, and as mentioned destroy wake. Also a complete gimmick at best but would counter some archa sets who lead with rock tomb to break sash / not go for Draco immediately. Less of a selling point to be sure but I digress.

Endeavor/counter strat is fairly common but it can be countered easily Final gambit is useless in this meta, as your pokemon will faint before the opponent, making you lose the battle

Well I think this is not popular because mainline pokemon games aren't build to 1v1 when everything has crazy stats. Look at spinnof games and anime or manga. All attacks are much weaker while everything has much more HP or can take/avoid multiple hits. In normal games one shots are very common and people don't like losing battle because of a one shot.
