Here is some very rare behind the scenes footage of the GOAT in MMA George St. Pierre training wrestling and Jiujitsu with the GOAT of BJJ Roger Gracie. This behind the scenes footage was filmed a few years ago in London at Roger Gracie Academy before GSP's Welterweight Title fight against Nick Diaz.
It was amazing to see the 2 best guys in separate sports coming together to train wrestling and Jiujitsu to help each other get ready for their separate fights.
Roger Gracie is a 14x World Champion and is also the Grandson of jiu-jitsu founder Carlos Gracie and an inductee in the IBJJF Hall of Fame. He is also an ADCC Champion in 2005.
George St. Pierre is a former UFC Welterweight and Middleweight Champion with victories over BJ Penn, Matt Hughes, Michael Bisping, Thiago Alves, Jon Fitch, Jake Shields, Carlos Condit, Jonny Hendricks, Matt Serra, Josh Koscheck and Dan Hardy. The list goes on.
Both Fighters have now retired and cemented their legacies as the best to ever do it in their separate sports.

The thing I always liked about GSP is that he's one of the few examples of a guy with a dedicated striking background who wholeheartedly embraced grappling (especially wrestling) and became excellent at making it work in the cage. You hear about the opposite -- wrestlers becoming strikers -- all the time: Justin Gaethje, Chuck Lidell, Tyron Woodley, Jon Jones, the list goes on. But GSP was a karate guy who became an absolutely dominant wrestler.

@@pierremilburn5257 Yes, Jon was a special talent in his prime. It's a shame what became of him. That being said, he wasn't "the best at everything". Tremendously well-rounded yes and a threat everywhere, but if there was a weakness in his game, it was his boxing inside the pocket. But he used his other weapons to mitigate this very well.

He does everything in slow motion, you see it coming from a mile away, and still, you can't avoid it. As you said, he does everything perfectly. Every hand and foot placement has a purpose and he's always 2 or more moves ahead of you. As you said, it's the basics of BJJ and grappling, just done with extreme finesse and dexterity. Details matter.

All black belts will have mastery of the basics but there we definitely things he did blue belt wouldn’t know. I can tell you’re around a blue belt level to not understand the difference between blue belt Techniques vs black belt (both using the same technique) the black belt does things the eye’s cannot see, its the invisible jiu jitsu. You’re looking at the surface thinking its basics which its a bit more.

@@JaDe-jc8kf nah that's a myth like what Aikido people tell you LOL there is plenty of footage of DLT in street fights, it always goes into grappling/gnp. Maybe the video has been changed in the seven hours since this comment was posted but in the version i just watched, they stopped at about 2:02. If you want to see the technique that got them there, go 1:48 Id say they stoped because this was wrestling portion of training (takedowns only) and they werent trying to end up in a ground battle during those rounds. The footage was cut around 5:20 and _it might be_ because George was about to tap and they didnt want to show that part.
