The Cruiserweight division fell off after 2004. Tajiri left, Rey went on to fight in the main event and WWE didn't care. They almost scrapped it on a couple of occasions. By 2007, it needed to end. What did you think of the Cruiserweight Division?

The cruiserweight division was at it's peak in 2002-mid 2004 when u had Mysterio, Tariji, Chavo, Matt, Noble and more pulling out great matches.

The Cruiserweight Division was SUCH an underrated factor of Ruthless Aggression. They definitely gave us some of the most entertaining matches ever and it’s such a shame, they never get mentioned as much as other matches. Also Gregory Helms’ reign of 2006 was SO good, definitely the best Cruiserweight Champion.😁

I loved the Cruiserweights. They offered the most exciting and athletic matches and the rivalries were interesting. They were actually my favourite part of WWE between 2002-2005.

The cruiserweight division was great. Glad i got to live through this as a kid. Fond memories of Rey vs Matt on SD. Such a stacked division. It turned out much better than the modern cruiserweight division. And IMO Chavo was Rey's best opponent. Their feud in 07/08 was great.

The Cruiserweight division in my opinion was pretty damn good and another reason why I always felt like SmackDown what's the better show at the time because they were showcasing the mid card, tag team, and Cruiserweight division.

The WWE Cruiserweight Division was on fire in the early Ruthless Aggression Era. But by 2005, when the Juniors Division was introduced, the title and the division lost its prestige and it stayed that way until it was deactivated in 2007.

i was watching Smackdown back then in June 2004 and i remember Billy Kidman accidentally botching the shooting star press move and his knee hitting chavo guerrero in the skull knocking him out for twenty minutes. after that they tried banning the shooting star press and other high flying moves and they also used the chavo guerrero incident and made it into a storyline and a feud between Billy Kidman and Paul London. i was actually rooting for Kidman in that and if i remember correctly Billy Kidman beat Paul London and won that feud.🔥🔥🔥.

I’m watching 2006 ECW I’m probably 15 Eps in and they really needed a Mid Card and Tag Divisions but I think the Cruiserweight Division(shared or exclusive to ECW) could’ve thrived on that brand especially after they went from 1-2 hours.

That’s the one thing I always said about 2006 WWECW is that it should’ve at least had a Mid Card title. The Hardcore title (without 24/7 rules) or the Cruiserweight title would’ve prevented random jobbers from challenging for the ECW title.

I saw Noble live a few times in 2005 when he like got a new start and a chance to resurrect himself. His matches were great he even won the title in a 4 way with Punk, Joe& Christopher Daniel's then losing the title to Bryan Danielson. Definitely matches to go back and check out

WCW actually treated foreign stars better. You had a great mixture of luchadores, Japanese flyers, and American technicians. Vince McMahon loves big sweaty men after all. There are a few instances like that Triple H title match against the Japanese partner of Funaki, or PAC against Rollins.
