Had 4 pans one 1100 and 3 1300s. all brilliant bikes, bullet proof, commanding, low seat, yeah heavy, but treat it with respect and is not a problem, massive tank, it might be old fashioned now, but still more then a match for all the modern bikes out there, as for the weave, we’ll speed limit in UK is 70 mph, and I have never experienced no weave and I’m still riding !

I picked up a 2006 for a song. Never dropped & just about all ad-one but a Corbin smuggler’s trunk. I’ve had it to about 125 and usually between 65 & 85 with not a single twitch, wobble, flutter or such. I’m no lane splitter or racer by any stretch but I’m guilty of loving the style, smooth ride & stability of the ST is most welcoming. All I could ask for is a smoother throttle response like a BMW 1600. Other than that...it has advanced features (electric windshield-panniers to die for-etc), is Honda reliable, well balanced & great sporty response with top end touring comfort. Great bike...

When is the new HONDA ST 1300 with DCT gearbox ???
@MorrisBroadwood10 жыл бұрын
I'm on my second new ST1300 in 5 years and they've been fantastic. I'm looking forward to buying the next version when in comes out(?). However, I'll only buy one if it's got the same or better practical design features. For example, the things I need are lots of forward storage and rear luggage capacity for all my work bits and a narrow bike width for filtering...since I spend a lot my riding time in the M25 traffic jams. I test road the new Triumph Trophy but was put off by the extra width and lack of forward storage capacity, and that I couldn't get my work ThinkPad laptop in the pannier. (dead easy in the ST1300). I've also been looking at other tourers, BMW, Moto Guzzi, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and they all seem to have the extra pannier width problem.....not good it heavy crowded traffic. So, looking to see what Honda comes up with......

Part Xd an 06 plate with 25k on the clock. Except for the weight I'm more than happy with the bike. I was quite surprised by its agility and how nimble it is for its size and weight. Its just a nightmare if you have to move that around in a car park. Some people find it quite funny a 5'7" guy tries to move that monster around but they stop once they see the wheels start to move. :-)

The ruby red colour at the beginning of this video is still the most striking, then closely followed by metallic blue, the other colours tend to make the bike look dull.

Can you please post here who played the fantastic music starting @ 07:55 until the end of the clip? I love it and want to know the name of the band and the album that contains the song.

Honda committed suicide on its ST serie(s) and now we owners of ST1100 and 1300 riders have to suffer from a lack of decent replacement. :( Honda get your shit together and give us a new Pan European!!!

Best Mile muncher ever built. I've had 3. And love them. Will go forever if looked after. Much nicer to ride than the new vfr1200 . Build quality is superb. Yeah it's heavy but most owners who know their onions have a plaything as a 2nd bike. Can be used all year round. Runs hot in summer and legs suffer but so do beemers and they have silly switchgear and shitty gearboxes. The v4 is a classic engine. The nt 1100 is nowhere near as nice.

No heated grips and no cruisecontrol...what are manufactures thinking of producing a tourer without it??? Cruisecontrol Heated grips Perhaps heated seat Adjustable seat or pegs Aux with inbuild goood speakers..debatable Low rpm max 2500-3000 while driving round 120km/h Adjustable bigger windscreen for taller persons then the japonese without creating turbolence with backflow Maintence not in range of bmw witch is a ripp off, that scares off most riders and their fragile superexpensive abs units. Weight max 300kg This is what im looking at while buying a cruiserbike

No.Some police bikes developed a weave at over 130mph,and this was blamed on the weight of the Comms equipment and other paraphernalia hanging over the rear end

Clearly yet another technologically over-complex motor which will cost a fortune to repair when it goes wrong. One way I suppose to keep specialist Honda dealerships in work / wealthy. Bikes have gone the same ways as cars insofar as one needs to buy pre-2000 in order to secure something sensible. As for 'customer surveys' are we seriously expected to believe that customers ask for such high tech? As for beauty - what can possibly be beautiful about a motorcycle completely swathed in plastic?
@ohwell27906 жыл бұрын
Ivan Sanders, I agree with you on the overly complex electronics. That is why I ride a 1996 st 1100 with carbs and really only has electronic ignition. More power to me is not important when 100 hp is plenty. The 1300 is only 5 pounds lighter and only 5 hp more at nearly red line. The one I have has 72,000 miles and runs and rides just fine. To bad that these older machines are getting hard to find. I am 74 and will quit only when I can not push it around anymore. I do like the total wind protection on long rides and as always beauty is more a personal thing. These days very few people with cars can't do anything to them when they break, open the hood and look and that is about it. I never bash another man's ride, that is their choice and I respect that.

No issues with the 2004 ST1300 ABS. Maybe it is a complex machine, but it is a Honda. Fill it with gas and enjoy. Do not worry.
@JIMWSMITH9 ай бұрын
Well the st1300 has certainly proved you wrong , it's one of hondas most reliable machines with the engines being bullet proof with mileages over 150,000 miles . Alternators can be an issue at high miles and water pump and fork seals. Mines done 47,000 miles without issue and runs like new...

I've ridden one of these for a hour and that was enough.....Jesus H Christ, heavy isn't the word, fuel up 300 kilos, ridiculous. No reverse gear so front forward on a hill and it's not going anywhere soon.
