Born too late to remember the 00s. When the 10s came and I became more aware, they were already on a downward spiral towards the second half of the decade. And then the 20s came, the aftermath was much worse than the tragedy itself, in fact we can argue that the tragedy wasn't tragical at all compared to what came after. In fact we can argue that some of us got to experience a brief sense of freedom when everything seemed to have ended and we could finally be free. A lot of benefits we didn't get to experience before and neither we will experience them after. Something that you didn't know you needed. But then the tragedy ended and all came back to normality. And the moment was gone. But we didn't learned to appreciate the moment, because it was too brief and we only focused on the negative. A moment that is so unique that it will never be repeated. And now we simply can't go back after we had experienced that tiny amount of freedom. In fact it seems as if we are stuck in 2020 even though we are reaching the second half of the decade... Will you made an essay about this first half of the decade to be released on a couple of months?

I'm glad to be born in the year 2001. Such great shows like Spongebob, iCarly, Arthur, and great movies like Sam Raimi's Spiderman trilogy and the Dark Knight trilogy. I miss those days. As Kylo Ren said, "You're still holding on." Life must go on.

Tbh, this is where I mostly relate to due to how I reached puberty in the 2010s era. I feel always toxicly happy, be negative all the time, and most importantly, self doubt. Already in my early 20s and 3rd year in college but now, still feel lile 2010s except I think more of how to make money, how to save money, how to hone your skills, and other stuff. This video was a refresher that I am not alone. I was born in 2000s so I never know what the 2000s were like cause I was too young. Now I have to face the fact that once I graduate, I have to find a job that dosen't go minimum wage. Thanks @Occulturation for this video It helps a lot. Don't care when you upload. Just keep making content until you can't anymore.

It wasnt great towards the end but they were the last years of the "old world", things were still mostly ok. Been a downward spiral since early 2020 and idk if itll ever get better at this rate. Its been over 4 years and the feeling that something irreversibly went wrong is only getting stronger. Like, whenever i think about it i just get this feeling of dread that our time has passed, that all good things just ended there. All i see when i look ahead is darkness

As a zoomer, post apocalypse, dystopias and zombies are my kind of stuff 😅. Probably your most hard hitting video of the saga yet…😢 P.S. If you are doing the 2020s one but dont wanna do a whole 2030s one maybe do a sneak preview of what that era should look like!

John Vervaeke has done academic work on the zombie-phenomenon, most notably his "Zombies in Western Culture: A Twenty-First Century Crisis" published in 2017. So yeah, your theory on decades very much holds up on that regard.

Great video, this series always makes me think a bit about my life and the coming future. I'm also a Zoomer. I try hard to lead a good life and be postive and uplift my friends and family. I lived and still live within the ending of the depression era and I like the different views and critics you offered to us Zoomers. Self Improvement is something everyone seems to think about nonstop, and I myself partake in everyday. It annoys me, because after a certain point you yourself choose to become Sisyphus. You choose to push the boulder. While I agree that living through and or dealing with the afterlife of depression makes you stronger and shows you how beautiul life is, we still have to improve our character and soul and not drag others down while we do so. Our depression and arrogancy/constant talking about self improvement, is very self centered and can push people away from us, as it starts to become a contest who is the best and most productiove person for themself. And I have to add that I myself am still part of that. I love this analysis and look forward to all your videos. I share your optimistic view of the future and wish you a great day.

Attack on Titan is a perfect 2010s-2020 Show. It starts with the Theme of Survival. Then the protagonist villain arc "Abandoning liberal myths" and then the ending is a mix between trying to make the world a better place, even with the hard realities, and regime pchyop to deligitimise the path of Eren Yeager so that we don't starts joining blackshirts.

I was coming around to that idea most of Self-improvement was just load of bunk, but to be fair as a zoomer, I was never really able to delve into what enjoyed I was convinced by my parents and school that college was the way out that it was best course then you go there and there's just more work to do another dream to chase just around the corner. So you try to improve on yourself and it feels more like chasing the aspirations when I was kid (being fit, joining a band, going to parties) just doesn't seem to exist nowadays.

After you're done with the 2030s (last stage of the cycle), are you going to do a video series on the cycle pre-1970s. I am having trouble figuring out where the 1960s is. Other decades that are pretty interesting: * 1890s depressions due to robber barons would cause a shock in the American people, and they would clamor for reforms in the following decade * 1900-1910 progressive age america would be anger since people are clamoring to deal with robber barons * 1920s would be bargaining as people are partying, women showing skin, and are making deal with the devil with alcohol and rampant crime and bad stock market decisions * 1930s is depression due to the great depression from the consequences of the stock market crash (made the deal with the devil, too much fun wall street dudes) * 1940s would be testing due to the war and post-war America where americans try out different hobbies from having more expendable income * 1950s being the acceptance as people come to terms of the new status quo with America being the super power now.
@whatsinameme52583 сағат бұрын
I probably won't do a full series, but might mention it. For the record, I think the 1960s is a completely different stage between Acceptance and Shock. I call it the "Peace" stage. Making peace with grief. So presumably if the cycle follows, the 2040s will be the Peace Stage. Whether you consider this the first or last stage is up to you. It's difficult to see a peaceful future ahead, but it should at least be easy to see how the 60s theme was peace.

Zombie media, man I enjoyed no lifing the hell out of Zombieland until The Walking Dead had came around 😒😢😭 there was just so many people dying in the show and whatnot, getting turned and whatnot, it made everything hard to like and trust anymore... Forget about Zombieland 2 coming out I guess... Oh and yeah that other stuff happened rather if it was "DEI" related as I hear or see a few people mention now in some entertainment & games etc... I find it very cringe when it just can't be cool and has to be that political self insert type of thing.

minecraft is an interesting case because the game itself is definitely depression. there really is no purpose to anything in the game at all. especially in the early versions of the game. if you have no music on, it's kind of creepy, and the soundtrack is bleak and minimalistic. even in current versions where they fill up the game in as much stuff as possible it still has that feel. however the community, especially in the early 2010s might just be the absolute opposite of that
@whatsinameme52589 күн бұрын
I'd say its a mix of Bargaining and Depression for Minecraft. It still maintains that "Playing God" theme of 2000s games
