Sounds like a good April Fools video. Actually, I was thinking about this when they did their April Fools Wheelhouse, for April Fools they should do an Up to Speed and/or Bumper2Bumber on a Prius. Sort of an April Fools prank in it being the car everyone loves to hate, but actually could still be fairly interesting - it may not be exciting, but it was a big gamble on Toyota's part and would make an interesting story, has a lot of interesting technology and design going on, and, like it or not, is a game-changer in the automotive industry that made everyone else shit their pants.

Being an owner of a 2019 U.S. Ranger I really loved this video. I've been driving it for a month now, taken it off roading in the mountains twice, it's just an amazing machine. I'm averaging 20.4 mpg with a lot of City/traffic driving. There Ecoboost motor is very peppy and fun but does have a lot of turbo delay unless your in sport mode. You never even mentioned all the safety features! Lane assist, adaptive cruise control, collision sensors all around the vehicle, active collision avoidance and many more. I was skeptical to buy this truck but I can't get enough of it now that I have it. By far my most favorite vehicle I've ever owned.

It’s not though, it’s still considerably smaller than 10th gen F-150s. Not only does consumer demand prevent manufacturers from making a pickup smaller than the mid size trucks of today but fuel economy regs do as well. In fact, the way manufacturers are taxed in regard to fuel economy is one of the leading reasons why regular cab midsize trucks no longer exist.

They may bring the Wildtrak to the US eventually, maybe next model year (it's been spotted being tested). But forget the 3.2 diesel and manual. No way they are going to sell them with that in the US. It will still have the 2.3 ecoboost and auto 10 trans. The 3.2 diesel is supposed to be discontinued in the very near future anyway. But the Ranger Raptor has also been spotted in the US. If they bring the Raptor forget the Wildtrak. They'd much rather sell more Raptor and the Wildtrak would just get in the way.

@@basithph8958 the 3.2 makes 26,8 mpg highway and 346 ftlb of torque in a 6 speed auto Ranger. That's on par with the GM 2.8 duramax available in the Colorado. It's been around a long time and problems have been ironed out. It's a pretty reliable engine. Great overall engine no doubt. Shit is, the american ranger is expensive as it is. An equivalent Colorado or Tacoma is ~10K cheaper (according to my adventures on their build and price tools), heck I could get a ZR2 or TRD Pro for less than the Lariat. And diesels are pretty expensive. People who want a diesel in a small pickup (spoiler: not many) would go Colorado bcz it's cheaper. The problem with diesel in the US is that there is so much stuff around them to make them compliant with environmental laws that it's just not worth it. It's not like that in the rest of the world. The US industry followed the gas path over the last century and it is the way it is. But diesel would probably fit the american culture of 'cheap fuel, long lasting cars' much better. Specially now that diesel technology has evolved so much. Take a look at Europe. At this point diesel is better for the environment than gas.

In Europe, around $35k can get you a 3.2L diesel extended cab 4wd Ranger. The trim levels are different here, there’s WildTrack, Limited and cheaper ones. Love my Ford!!

Right now if I were in the market for a new USDM truck the Gladiator would be my first look. If I am spending good money it is going to have a manual transmission, at least in 1/2 & 1/4 ton.

Nope, but I believe the new Bronco is Ranger based, like the Everest
