Never use front brake in slow speed maneuvers my bro. Rear only, friction zone and a touch of throttle and it won't want to fall over on you like that.

Correct. This wasn't an intended low-speed maneuver though. It was intended as a stop to back up and turn more but the bike decided it wasn't done turning.

InvictvsNox Except you said, “ooh, not turning.” That statement appear to coincide with you making a u-turn in the video. But you weren’t making a maneuver. But if what you were doing was stoping, then don’t use the front brake to complete your stop unless the front wheel is completely straight.
@2kanchoo

Tyrone Davis exactly if the front wheel is turned and grab front brake bike will wanna fall over turning or stopping. That’s why so many do when trying to move bike in garage. Roll it forward with wheel turned grab front brake to stop and over it goes haha.

Just took delivery of my 2020 Challenger limited. Your enthusiasm matched mine with the first few rides for sure ! I'm accessing the bike as Road Glide (just sold my 2011 103 Street Glide for this bike) meets Gold Wing (similar HP to the new GW) meets sportbike/sport tourer (My BMW RT1200 is not as pretty, but a better all weather tourer and my BMW S1000rr validates that I know HP). This bike takes a little of each of those and gives you a hybrid of them. I can see that Polaris is targeting a slightly younger crowd, getting that loyalty going for future purchases. I'm sold so far (just did my first fill up, 36.6 mpg nothing to brag about, but still impressed with the comfort/performance/look of the bike for a high performance cruiser), and a good thing as I'm an owner and my wife (bought her a 2015 Indian Vintage in '16, she never missed her HD Deluxe a day after that and has bugged me to join the Tribe ever since) is now smiling saying , "told you so". Thought I wanted a Chieftain because of the ride and handling superiority to my Street Glide, glad I waited for the Challenger to arrive.... ;)

It looks to me like this bike MORE than met the hype. The FTR wasn't a bad release but it didn't quite meet the hype. This one nailed it and then some. Assuming their 25K road miles and 1 million simulated miles worked the bugs out, Indian out-did themselves with this bike. This could be one of the hottest new releases in years. Hail to Indian!

@@UnrulyRider No, I'm just kind of going by the "audience created hype". It was built up for so long and Indian teased it for so long, my perception is that a lot of people were expecting something a little more. Not that it's not a great bike. I'm sure it met the official, Indian marketing hype but the audience at large kind of over-hyped it. Again, this is just from the many reviews I've watched on KZbin. Well if you like it fine.... it I would disagree with it being such a great thing it’s probably an ok bike..so is the he Honda rebel.. I looked into Polaris but I went with a Harley road glide limited... the challenger has a few more horsepower and might outrun the road glide but I have said on a couple other videos I have already rode mine across country two up loaded heavy and the 114 will do 90+ down the interstate without a problem... if I want to win races and that’s what’s important I’ll buy a ninja... fastest production bike made... the dash is butt ugly the front is very square.. challenger limited has 3 color options no 2 tone.. road glide limited has 8.... no tour pack option no lowers .. no heated grip option... it does have moving windshield... if you want to drag race... which to me is like saying I want to buy a Cadillac to race with... its touring... but if you want to race and play with the windshield this might be your bike... it over all I see nothing special and we will see how the motor does .. Let me guess when you got back with the demo ride and you did that take turn you probably engage the clutch too much if you keep constant power to the wheel the bike would not have gone down. A mistake a lot of people make I can do some pretty tight hairpin turns with my Chieftain the key is not pulling the clutch too far you need constant power to the rear wheel. Your tires are like gyroscopes as long as power is to them the bike will not fall down. I take delivery on my Challenger in a week or two as soon as it gets delivered. 😎

Sales are also dropping but Polaris hides it unlike A worsening sales decline Polaris Industries is not transparent at all when it comes to telling you how its motorcycle business is performing. Where Harley breaks down sales and shipments by geographic region and type of motorcycle, Polaris provides vague percentage increases or declines, maybe calling out a model once in a while, but never giving investors any real insight into how Indian's various motorcycles are performing. What we do know is that despite double- and even triple-digit sales growth early on, Indian Motorcycle sales are now quickly spiraling down. Even as Polaris obscures the actual numbers, a mid-teen-percentage decline in retail sales that far eclipses the contraction of the broader motorcycle market suggests that this is becoming a big problem for the bike maker. Worse, the downdraft is accelerating. In the second quarter, Polaris said Indian retail sales were down by almost 10%, while in the first quarter they were almost 10%, while in the first quarter they were down by high single-digit rates. In last year's fourth quarter they were down by low double-digit amounts, which was a big drop since they had been positive the quarter before. That doesn't bode well for when Polaris reports results the next time around. Even though the bar has been lowered considerably on sales, there's no reason to think it will be able to rebound -- precisely because Indian is still making the same kinds of heavy, big-bore bikes as Harley. It just released its newest touring motorcycle, the 2020 Challenger, that houses its bigger, more muscular liquid-cooled PowerPlus engine that evokes images of Harley's Road Glide.

You can lock em down if you want... same tech on the other Indian backrests. I've over 75,000 miles on my '16 Vintage and been to all sorts of shady places over the years and never had anything happen to my backrest, helmet or saddlebag contents for that matter (all unlocked). I don't know anyone that's ever had their bike stuff ripped off... heard of it happening but I personally don't know anyone that it's happened to... and I live in SoCal. I guess it could happen but I personally don't worry about it. I wouldn't leave my phone in my RAM mount unattended for very long however... it's small and easily detached and pocketed. So I guess my level of trust only goes so far... but by all means lock em up if you feel the need!

My friends got one he likes it but his comments are always "i don't think its as fast as my cross country was". It's a nice bike they did a good job and at least it woke up Harley. It doesn't stand a chance against a sport tourer though, so if you're used to power and sport like handling this is not going to keep up with you. Build quality is just beautiful too, makes me think for the future, but man i love my sport tourer wayyyy tooo much than a cruiser!!!!!!!!!

Yet another video of someone doing a review of the Indian Challenger? Im convinced there are 5000 of these reviews on KZbin already. Just another "test rider" who walked out the door without purchasing the bike, this must be the thing to do nowadays I guess. I learned a lesson from wife who told me..."Why put yourself thru the torture of test riding something if you don't plan on purchasing it?" I must confess she's right, I have no desire to purchase ANOTHER motorcycle. Thanks for sharing your tire kicking experience with the rest of the Indian Challenger reviewer's.

You kids and your "sport" mode. All it does is take out the modularity of the throttle to make power come on at smaller inputs. Most of them don't make any additional power, it just makes the silly thing harder to control. You can do the same thing in Standard mode by just tugging on the throttle a little harder.

Thanks for the feedback. With these, I typically prefer to approach a bike completely blind to all the numbers, hype, and marketing because I want to convey how a first ride impression will be to the people interested in watching. Some people such as yourself may wish to know more and I'd like to incorporate that somehow without ruining the experience mentioned above. I figure I'd keep fewer minutes on the clock for the sake of people who will google that info anyway.
