My quick look at the new 85 1.4 ART lens from Sigma. A new smaller design that is now 1lb lighter than the Canon and Nikon versions. An amazing lens if you are in the market for a fast 85mm that ticks all of the boxes. I shot this on a Sony A7III and it was wonderful.

THANKS I GOT ONE ALREADY but looking at some reviews that said its hideous and highest distortion ever in a lens i got little taken aback. Does inbody correction correct RAW as well? and ur images are beautiful , how to get the color tone please?

im just about to buy into a new camera sistem and this lens is surely a strong point towords the sony a74/ im trying to decide if im going with sony or with canon/nikon. any thooghts for me?

I think this is an excellent lens but the other lens you should consider is the 35-150 mm Tamron 2-2.8.

The distortion of the lens is pretty strong and unfortunately there is no lens Lightroom lens profile yet.

I own this lens and am annoyed that it is still not here. I have the A7iii and the in camera corrections are turned on and I believe I still notice the distortion.

Hehe! They promised smaller lenses, but nobody can beat the laws of physics. Especially when you want smaaaaal apertures, like 1.4 or 1.2. Canon made that RF 100-500 small, but is 4.5-7.1, for example, and so on.

This lens is utter and pure garbage. Firstly, a lens should have character. It might be clinically sharp but forground / background transision is not that nice Secondly, the distortion. The lens should not have any distortion and should not rely on computational processeing power. The lens design is flawed frow scratch. Thirdly, yes it is cheaper than the GM. But it is a third party. That's why one pays less to get that huge distortion.

What fucking rubbish are you talking about. Even some GM lens have distortion. Easily fixed.
