100%. No kids use the tilt-and-slide. So your choices are muddy shoes running over the center console, or over the top of the bench (like we used to do). This is why everyone is getting the captain chairs instead of a bench.

@french jesus I won't buy American crap. That toyota is made way better and its built here. My dad drove nothing but fords and he bought his first Toyota, an 01 Avalon. To this day ita never been to the shop. Only basic maintenance. He bought a new Tundra in 13 and its been better than any of the fords he's had including his company trucks. I buy whats best for my family. The big 3 have cheaply made interiors that don't hold up. They start making all kinds of whining and other noises after only a couple years. Toyotas sound the same 10 years old as they do new. That avalon was passed down to my brother and he just passed that car down to his son. American vehicles are junk compared to Toyota. Even if that American car stays reliable, they still fall apart inside. When American automakers start making vehicles as good as Toyota ill buy one. Till then I'll stick with Toyota, at least for my wife. Ive had my share of crap american vehicles and I don't buy them. Theyve improved alot, and there are a couple I would consider. But for my wife and kids they'll be in a Toyota or Lexus before anything else.

The price jumped quite a bit too, the previous top end was still under $50k. Like all SUV's this size, the 3rd row is completely useless. Reviewers say it's only for kids, but kids are supposed to be in car seats, and good luck with one of those back there. If you want a 3rd row, get something bigger. I'm a trainer for Toyota, and can confirm that the Platinum gets the digital rearview mirror. Also, you can get the 12.3 inch screen in the limited as an option for anyone who may read this.

I first started with Highlander in 2008 (used with 1000 mi) with a somewhat plain version with all wheel drive and loved it. I drove it to 90K mi and traded in for a 2013 limited (used with 900 mi) I currently have 75Kmi on it and plan to drive it as long as I can. At age 62 I have little need to get another one. I like the 2013 and it carries all my grandkids when needed and all our stuff when on road trips. I like the all wheel drive for snow country and wet roads. The sound system is very good and the nav-system is a plus we have grown to really like. I like the quality that Toyota puts into it's car and the power from this V6 is surprising. Yes the newest tricks on the 2020 would be nice but for us - what we have, we like and don't feel the need to spend over $50K on a car. I would recommend a Highlander to anyone - new if you can afford it or a good used one would be a fine car as well.

Just because it doesn't move automatically, doesn't mean it's not one motion. The back moves forward and the bottom slides forward without needing to move one first, or pull two separate levers. The old 4Runners needed you to flip the seat bottom forward, and then press a button on the top of the seatback.

We have had 2 Highlanders and they were both phenomenally great SUVs in their price range. The Highlander is no Land Cruiser but for the price I can’t think of any midsize family SUVs can outlast the Highlander. My Highlander drove past 300k miles without having to rebuild anything and that is amazing. And again my current 2005 Sienna is approaching 300K miles and still runs flawlessly like new, so was my 1985 Supra and 1984 Camry LE. Our family have had many well known brands that included some of the best like Infiniti, BMW, Honda, Ford, Oldsmobile, Mazda, Mercury, Nissan, Fiat and Audi but none of them can match TOYOTA in terms of miscellaneous but annoying issues, longevity, the huge dealers network, parts distribution and more importantly the cost of maintenance. Toyota vehicles also doing well holding their value being popular with used car buyers.

The Highlander and 4Runner, atleast the 2019 models, were essentially the same. Same height, length, seats and stuff. Obviously the 4Runner is actually an SUV, not this soft roader. But dimensions, they were almost spot on. So going up a notch to the Sequoia is actually correct. But that may change in (possibly) 2022 when the 4Runner is finally completely redone.

The 4 Runner Sucks!! My friend bought one brand new in 2017 to take off road because he has a Camp! He said it was the worse 4X4 vehicle he ever owned! Also it broke down on him and had to go in the Shop! Some major sensor was faulty and they also found something else wrong and fixed that too! He just recently traded it in on a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon!! So we see how that goes!!

With this HP you can easylie overtake when its necesary and that is all you need in any case . More HP in most hands are just dangerous .
