I think the idea is to see directly in front of you below the hood line. That way you don't run over your own dog 😬 when you drive away. Then when driving you get the navigation overlay.

Escalades are beautiful, durable machines. Workhorses. GM did some Fine work with this one. I traded mine in with over 300,000 miles. Would get another one in a heartbeat, can't afford it though ☹️☹️

The OLED screens are cool but I'm very skeptical about longevity. OLED's are known for burn in, happens a lot with smartphones after a year or two. Should have just stuck with LCD's. Still a very nice looking vehicle though, great video Tommy!

The parts of the screen that will probably burn in are the areas the image stays the longest. In the amount of time something takes to burn-in, the driver would have set up their preferred layout and it will not matter that much.

At night there's a spotlight that illuminates the pavement where you need to "kick" in order to open the tailgate. In general it's a pain in the ass. I've had mine try to close while I'm loading things in the back because I put my foot in the wrong place and it's hard to find in daylight.

Nice effort, overall, by Cadillac. One quibble is that the 2nd and 3rd row headrests do not automatically fold down when the seat backs are electrically folded. Merc GLS does it!!

As a matter of fact, I've had about 10 different Ford products since the bail outs and none of them ever went to the shop for anything other than oil change.....oh, a few recalls. I know Toy Toy gets recalled every now and then too.

Any idea what the small ports are in the rear rows? Look like they are phone charging ports but they make no sense to me as they definitely aren't standard or universal USB ports. Much smaller, look a lot like the ports on the iphones. I can't understand how I have this big fancy high technology truck with no charging ports for phones?

Escalade. A quality vehicle. I had mine since 2003. Had to get a Tahoe when I traded it in. Beautiful, beautiful car, but I couldn't afford that price. That Cadillac symbol is pricey ☺️☺️☺️

@@GodsloveMuzik who knows. My family's had both and they are both very luxurious. But the issue is caddies are GM. And GM is pretty bad. They've been getting worse since 09. So I'll put my money on Lincoln since Ford owns it and has shown us they are quite innovative ( in some areas , using sleeveless cylinders was a big mistake )

Lol is it me or have you noticed all the high end vehicles have shit kick sensor compared to normal priced vehicles . My new Audi Q7 takes like 20 kicks just to find the sensor or it doesn’t work at all at some points . Meanwhile my cousins new Ford Expedition kick sensor is so sensitive I could open it with a shadow or my foot .

Great effort from Cadillac, but the Navigator is still ahead IMO; specially in the interior. The tech here is great but the Lincoln's interior has a more cohesive atmosphere, plus they're not that far behind tech-wise, not to mention the Navigator is cheaper (slightly). Yet, if you told someone to guess which one is cheaper after viewing the interior, at least 8/10 would not guess the Navigator.
