We own 2021 Mazda 6 Signature for last 6 months and took delivery of our 3 Turbo Premium Plus (identical to the one in your video) a month ago. We love both of them. The 2.5T has a V6 growl and just thrusts the car forward with very little drama. There is no car in either segment that comes close to interior material quality. Great little sleeper. FYI I did ask my Mazda rep about the shifting in manual mode and she said Mazda did that because it up shifts where you are going to run out of torque and thrust.

0-60 in 5.7 and 14.1@99 in the 1/4 mile make this car quite entertaining as a daily driver. If the aftermarket offers springs/shocks, it could transform it into a capable corner carver as well. Love the sedan look. Every hatchback I've owned since 1993 have been creaky, squeaky masters. The cars to compare this to would be the Jetta GLI and possibly the WRX. For me, I will wait for the Hyundai Elantra N to come out. I wonder if the front end is bouncy like the Mazda6 turbo?

Only con that the Mazda 3 has now is the rear suspension - Torsion Beam Design. The fact that they switched the design in 2019 and moved away from the multi-link/double wishbone designs definitely affects handling and holds this generation back compared to its competitors.

No you're right, and reflecting back I don't believe it would truly benefit from a 6-speed manual quite the way I initially thought before driving the car... because of this very reason. I guess a 0-60 speed close to a WRX isn't fast anymore? What can you get in the same segment that's faster and doesn't sacrifice quality in order to do it?
@RoadsUntraveled3 жыл бұрын
It's true... 5.6 0-60 just isn't considered fast by modern standards. A stock 1994 Toyota MR2 had a 0-60 of 5.6 almost 27 years ago. But then again, if you're set on the word "fast", not sure Mazda would be your first choice if that's a priority for you as a driver. It's more about feel here.. which is a good thing for this car.
@Vortex19883 жыл бұрын
@@RoadsUntraveled I mean... most would consider a WRX fast and that's pushing 5.5 seconds. There's not many cars with awd that can do faster than that, unless you're willing to spend more than $40K. To get to the same performance and feature set that the Mazda3 Turbo has, you're going to be in the luxury brands and easily spending at least $40k-$50k. So for its class and features, I would definitely consider it quick. It's not a sports car, but no one expects a hatchback to be competing with a Mustang GT.

I would strongly recommend not buying a Mazda. We purchased a brand new 2016 Mazda CX9 and within 2 years had problems with a rough idle. Was told after second year it just needed new spark plugs. Dealer could never recreate rough idle. 4 years later we took it in for an oil change and was told the cylinder head was leaking coolant.....Cylinder heads on back order for two months due to known problem of leaking. the only solution was either a refurbished engine or New engine from dealer. Warranty just expired but dealer and Mazda just say “sorry either return your loaner car or replace the engine at your cost” Horrible experience......$4600.00 lesson learned. Please do yourself a favor and do not purchase a $40,000 car from Mazda only to have to purchase a $4600.00 engine in less than 4 years and trade in value now only $14,000 after new engine.
