I'm very impressed. This new Mercedes C class hits all the right spots, S class flair in a smaller, more nimble package. I'd say that the car that's feeling the heat right now is the E class. Just like the bigger Mercedes platforms, the C class can really pack-on the options with amazing price tags to match. Great review, Miles. ✔

Great review. I bought a similarly equipped ‘22 C300 three weeks ago, in the middle “Exclusive” trim, and I agree with most of your observations. (Mine is missing navigation and the driver assistance package.) I feel like the normal buyer of this car prioritizes comfort and luxury over sportiness. This isn’t the car I thought I’d buy, but I really liked it and got a great deal on it, which made the buying decision easier. It makes for an excellent daily driver, has nice tech, looks good inside and out, and it’s just sporty enough for me. I’m really enjoying the car so far!

I just had a C300W 2022 with the AMG exterior/night and AMG interior, beautiful car, didn’t last me 4 weeks. Mercedes HAS launched an investigation into the AMG Line brakes/performance wheels for the C300 2022’s, as well as a factory FAULTY engine coolant thermostat that takes 5-6 weeks to be built/delivered due to short supply of new parts. I traded it in for a new GLE 450 after owning it for less than a month. Trust me on this, I’ve worked/struggled with the original dealership and MBUSA, as have a few other new 2022 C300 owners. AVOID ALSO in any hot state, the central glass screen is a frying pan. Compared to the S class, whose central console is deeper and more back facing than the C300, you get a lot more heat, glare, and overheating on the C300’s panel due to its tilt degree’s.

The videography and cinematography is excellent and the presentation style is very good. I am not going to critique the man, but I am going to drag Mercedes through the mud and the reason why is that in an effort to attempt to cram in the latest and greatest technology and 'keep' their vehicles competitive with BMW, Mercedes has really skimped on a lot of things that made the original C class and early 2000s Mercedes great and well known in the industry. Back then they could easily go for 1,000,000 miles, and they had developed a name and reputation for reliability in addition to luxury, it's why so many older people drove them, they didn't want to do the maintenance and they really enjoyed the ride. A guy I used to work for owned a 2002 S430 and drove it until the engine decided it finally couldn't take anymore at 714,000 miles in 2015, where he was an early adopter of the Tesla Model S 75D. He has close to 200,000 miles on that car but loves the fact that he has unlimited supercharging grandfathered in given how much he drives. The battery has since deteriorated given how many times he has driven the car and in the winter he's lucky to get close to 205 miles of range, in the summer he gets just under 250. It has a nice ride, but for him it's still impractical given how long it can take to charge and how crowded the charging points have become over time. Looking at this C-Class, just from the interior I can tell you that gauge cluster will break when the car hits 55,000+ miles, that center console will stop functioning properly not long after and the turbocharger will decide it doesn't want to function anymore after 85,000 miles. And, in this car market, any new vehicles are subject to a dealer markup, a new mercedes even moreso, so I would expect vehicles like this to be pushing $70,000. The four separate connectors on the wheel just look strange and are more akin to the rear brake lights on the Genesis line of vehicles. The lack of physical buttons for climate control or radio is unacceptable at this price point and with that badge, audi does it better in the S3, which is $6,000 cheaper and has 50 more horsepower, as well as a better digital gauge cluster and user interface/experience in addition to physical buttons for a lot. At this price point, for what you get and for what you use, get yourself a lexus ES ultra luxury, heated and cooled seats, better material, the car is cheaper at $54,000, has more power because of the V-6 engine, and will last you somewhere in the neighborhood of 250,000 miles before you even see anything go wrong with the engine or transmission. With car prices being this high, anyone that this car is targetted toward will not want to spend the time going back and forth from the service center and being charged $2,000 to change a headlight. This isn't ultra luxury like the S550 (What a fantastic vehicle) or the A8L, so who exactly it this car targeted toward? The idiot that wants to drive a mercedes. Don't be that idiot, they've lost what made them great. Do the smart thing, buy a Lexus, if you want performance, get a Honda Civic Si, if you want a good daily driver sedan, get a VW Jetta GLI for $33,000, a sweet 7 speed DSG mated to the ea888 228hp engine, the same as in the Golf GTI, is one of the most reliable engines out there, and the jetta comes in a manual if you would like that option. TL:DR, don't waste any of your hard earned money on a mercedes built after 2005 unless its the S class before 2019, it will not be worth it to say that you 'Have a mercedes' to look cool, it will be much better to drive around your friends in a car that works, like an IS-350, Toyota Camry XSE/XLE V-6, Honda Civic/Accord, VW Jetta GLI, Audi S3, than it will be to drive to the dealership every 5,000 miles to cost you your credit card limit just to sniff in the vague direction of the vehicle.

Nah, the C Class and 3 series feel very small and theres a difference in materials. Everything feels cheaper. Doesn't make it a bad car, but its just not in the same league as the S class. The person buying an S Class isn't picking between C class and S class anyway. C class/3 series is more for the general consumer/entry level consumer for these brands.

Seeing a lot more cheap hard plastics than expected I dont consider this the full luxury meal as the title states. Especially in the back. I like their design these days though. Too much screen for my liking and the buttons on the steering wheel being split isnt my cup of tea either but other than that really nice.
@TheRedRaven_2 жыл бұрын
I agree, this has actually been the trend for Mercedes for quite some time now, their interior plastics have never been up to standard, specifically the C class models. Really hard to justify that 60k msrp when there are better options on the market. I also dislike how many of these I see on the road, maybe not 2022's but the body style isn't that much different from previous lines. You see them everywhere and it doesn't stand out even though it's a Mercedes.

I will be in the market to buy a new car soon and I want a MB. I always wanted one and I remember wanting a C class in 2012 and they were $34k at the time. Now they start much higher and when you spec it out, for me it comes to about $50k. The issue I have with that... is the GLB. The AMG 35 version spec out with many features I would want comes to about $55k. That value just feels unbeatable for me. So much more room. I think that is where I will go. Having to turn his feet sideways then sit down and twist his feet forward underneath the seat in front of him and he says " . . . good size foot pockets . . ." hahahaha. Foot pockets!!!! When your feet are flat on the floor, and you have them back as far as they will go, and you can only see half of your foot, then "foot pocket" is the correct phrase. I managed to get into the back of one of those things and actually almost twisted my ankle and fell down trying to get back out - I had to sort of pull myself out by grabbing the frame of the door and using my arms more than my legs while i tried to maneuver myself. If I were the owner, I would be too embarrassed to ask an adult to sit back there.

Not even close. German cars are always going to cost the most to own no matter what the model is. Sure, there are some well made newer German vehicles like BMW’s with the B58 and B48, but technological problems are a given *eventually* and there are always oil/coolant leaking problems with these vehicles. Lexus are a little outdated and will cost more but that is because they last and are the only true reliable luxury vehicle.

Ordered the car for wife since 10 months ago and hated it before even receiving it, now cancelling... Basically, they kept removing features (like: Brumester speakers, Wireless charger, trunk acceess, rear wheel steering, adaptive suspension, active steering plus, headup display) yet they didn't reduce the price at all + they kept delaying the car, I should already be having it but now delays up to 6 months (which I don't mind since it's expected in today market), but what I mind is them coming to me saying most likely price will increase despite all those features they removed and I already paid 20% deposit for it...... I said no more, I go BMW, the thing is it's not dealer thing also, it's Mercedes thing also as they keep removing features in an all new car, the car literally just now launched why remove all of those features that's available in other models!!!!

Leased a brand new 2020 amg gtc roadster 2/2021. On the drive home got first error message and noticed busted subwoofer. After that engine lights. Then engine lights again. Then 4 (!!!) simultaneous error messages. Multiple knocking sounds. Overall, $189k car has been in the shop with 10 different issues for about 70 days. Customer service from MBUSA is truly disgusting. Ignoring multiple calls and messages and multiple emails. Asked them multiple times to take car back and they refused. Have to go thru lemon process to get rid off this piece of junk. Never offered apology or any sort of mediation for the experience. How in the world they are allowed to sell products they cannot support is beyond me.
