Honestly, as a current owner of a CLA, I have to say - is this the ‘luxury strategy’? I want new car and i just don’t know what to choose from mb. I want an EV sedan that’s larger than the CLA, so I went for a test drive with the EQE, and I honestly don’t see why I should choose it over a Tesla. It doesn’t even have a front trunk, costs twice as much, is slower and less efficient. An electric premium? In my country, I only have two cars to choose from. The E-Class hybrid, with a 370L trunk - are you kidding me? So with this luxury strategy, all I’m seeing is the price tag without any added value - in fact, I often see even less value for luxury price. And bring back real buttons on the steering wheel! Good luck.

@fdsafsfdsafsad believe me 2026 cla will be the most advanced technological EV and ice vehicle mankind has ever seen . it will have most efficient both electric drive unit with 2 speed transmission(200 kw=268 hp) and mild hybrid 1.5 liter i4 internal combustion engine( 160 kw=214 hp) along side with it's amazing drag coefficient , it will be the most efficient ev on sale(better than both lucid air pure and model 3 LR RWD).also ice version will feature an efficient mild hybrid system but at the same time efficieny of a full plug in hybrid model because of it's drag co efficient and thermal effiency of it's inhouse developed FAME ice.and best in class head room,leg room and trunk capacity.

EQ line up will be dead in early 2028,they will offer an electric version of their whole lineup,meaning we will see 2028 S class with combustion engine and full electric version(possibly with 500 wh/kg upcoming 2027 CATL all solid battery cells) along side each other with the same S class's beautiful design. I don’t think taking MB logo literally as headlight is a good design. It feels flat and less dynamic. Only in graphic design we do this, not automobile design. The star just feels static compared to a fluid line.

How are you able to see the design? Dou you got some X-Ray eyes the world should know about? I just see a typical CLA silhoutte and thats it. The wrap is designed in a way that a human eye is losing track of dimensions. So a normal person is not able the see the design lines. Nevertheless the car looks bold

CO2 regulations. Brands have to hit an average CO2 over all the cars they sell in the EU (and UK) of around 95g/km, A v8 would be around 300g/km. The V8s they already offer on GTs, G-Wagons etc are about as many as they can already sell without going over the average.

Mercedes neeeds to focus on improving their interior build and material quality. At the moment it's very poor and even worse than some mainstream brands. Also, they need to start making the tech standard. Having to pay for radar cruise, 360 cameras etc is unacceptable while basic Chinese cars have it standard and it works well.

I'm absolutely thrilled with my CLA Shooting Brake! It's an amazing car, but I've been eagerly anticipating an electric version. Unfortunately, my needs have changed, and I now require a 7-seater. I recently test drove the EQB 300, and while it's incredibly comfortable, the range left me wanting more. Now, I'm excitedly looking forward to the EQB's successor, expected around 2026! I can't wait to see how it's evolved and, most importantly, what kind of range it will offer. Hopefully, it'll be the perfect electric 7-seater I've been dreaming of!

Hopefully, the launch of the electric CLA will restart a new era of electric vehicle design and tech at Mercedes Benz. The current EQ lineup is luxurious (I test drove an EQS580 for a weekend). Comfortable interior, lots of tech- but the shape/exterior design and interior packaging did leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully the 2nd era will show a return to more familiar exterior design, large ranges (>400mi), fast charging times....and a return of some interior HVAC/infotainment tactile buttons!

Dear MB. I've been a huge fan of your cars since the 80s. But competition is getting fierce. This generation of your line up is the last chance maintain some level of presence in China. Do not mess it up by putting in cheap, thin materials, hard plastics, and LEDs. Don't race to the bottom. Let the Chinese cars compete amongst themselves. If you continue to cut costs in the interior (something that became especially noticeable starting with W212), you will lose.

I'm a big Mercedes fan.... But the new C300 I had delivered from new drove terrible. This was due to the soft suspension. Felt unsafe to drive. On the DE Autobahns it bounced around and very hard to control, even hitting the front bump stops under hard breaking. On the derestricted A7 kassel section on the bends it felt so dangerous to drive. Many issues with turbo oil return leakages. (LONG STORY) Today I got the car back with the correct suspension. It now handles ok. I can't believe Mercedes delivered a car with the incorrect suspension. Not to the spec, which I'm sure the German TÜV would like to know about. Even the Mercedes dealer said the part number didn't match their data on the screen. After lots of emails and heated phone calls they changed the suspension. Crazy situation. I would Mercedes to personally apologise to me for 14 months of total stress and 42k km of stress driving. I should work for Mercedes as a test driver.... I did.

Ola, what have you done with Mercedes? During your reign, the quality and prestige have fallen, customers are starting to leave this Chinese design, which lacks the CHARISMA and MONUMENTALITY that Mercedes has always been. The quality of the interior is very low, especially the seats and the quality of the door trim and panel, about the power units that have become more complex and less reliable, and also Chinese engines....what next? You still have time to return to the roots, do not waste it, because the people who brought this brand to the top worked for decades, and you have been killing it for 5 years already...

Any word on whether the CLA has a frunk? That lack of frunks on Mercedes EV models is a deal killer for me. I'm a longtime loyal Mercedes owner and I can't get over that they've missed the value that a frunk offers for drivers. Also, I really wish they would put a charge port near the front of the car. Most Mercedes owners park in a garage at home. We pull into our garage, we don't back in. 80% of charging is done at home. It would seem logical to have a charge port in the front section of the car so the home charger can be placed in a center position in the garage for charging multiple cars.

Rear left is the most convenient location (in left hand drive markets) because of the quick access as you don't have to walk around the open door. Also, the Tesla Supercharging network is geared towards this location. Ideally you have two plugs (like Porsche), one for fast charging and one for home charging.

@@richyzig But what if you have two cars parked in your garage? Where do you put your charger? One car will have its charge port in the middle of the garage and the other will have its charge port next to a wall. The best solution would be to have a charge port near the front and one near the back as you mentioned. I mean they are plugs not gas filling tubes. And having multiple charge ports would allow someone to charge even if one of the other ports fails or is damaged in an accident.

Quality and car that lasts? My current generation GLE400d was in the workshop for 6 out of the 11 months I owned it. Coming from an MB family that had the W116/126/123/124/140/219/169, this was the worse car ever owned. And with every other model having an interior that creaks, and feels completely hollow, I'm not sure if Mercedes builds cars that lasts anymore... maybe lasts during a span of a novated leasing period but definitely not for generations anymore.

From 2017 I got each year new model of C Class or CLA. And I have to say latest models are all cheaply made. They are saving every penny because of the EQ family which no one is buying, will not buy and loosing tons of money on that. Got my hands on new C Class with the console in the middle lately. The car interior looks like from Temu. MB lost direction and their designs are getting more mediocre. If you want one, buy older models when they cared about their legacy. It is no longer luxury you are paying for.

Dont get me wrong but audi and porsche already have good ev with 800v architecture and they dont sell well in china. Chinese brands already have good evs with better range and faster charging speed than this new cla fir much cheaper. Why they should buy the cla? China is over for german brands..

Thank you for asking! As we specified in the video this circuit is in Immendingen, one hour south of Stuttgart (Germany). It is the test track for Mercedes-Benz!

Anyone noticed how quiet it was when they went on test track, when they were talking it was like studio quality, no ambient noises, no tyre noise, nothing... Looks really close to the prototype shown about a year ago and I like that a lot!! Also it was put in production quite fast, looks like very promising platform, i like hybridized combustion combination, i think EU should put more focus towards e fuel development and improving ICE thermal efficiency

I like it but I will wait for the Shooting Brake version. That one should really have beautiful flow lines as well as more practicality. I would prefer a smaller glass roof that can be opened though. Maybe both variants would be available?
