I got my SX Prestige about a month ago. Currently love it. My dealer doesn’t charge markups on any of their vehicles but they won’t sell to buyers from out of town because they didn’t want to be taken advantage of that fact and wanted to build a relationship with their customers.

At this point, I think this is much more appealing *BECAUSE* of the N/A 3.8 V6. Simple and much more reliable. The 3.8 is also known and praised. Not like other Kia motorts unfortunately(4 cylinders).. But this 3.8 N/A V6 is a gem in the turbo i4 crossover world.

The thing I’ve noticed with Kia and Hyundai is that the interior components reliability sucks big time. I’d rather have the Infiniti QX60. The Sensory Trim is just about right. Price, and quality.

Their engines burn oil after about 5 years, happened to 2 people I know. One had a decent warranty/dealer experience (new engine), the other had to fight just for the top of the engine which ended up doing nothing.

I actually Think Infiniti is beginning to up their game a bit. Genesis outsold them last year, so they need to step it up. That said, the Telluride isn’t bad, that and the Santa Fe are the reason I changed leases from an RDX to an optioned out GLB ($55k). The top trim of the Santa Fe felt more premium than the RDX, it was definitely way ahead in terms of tech. These mainstream brands (the Koreans and Mazda) are catching up and sometimes out doing some of the premium brands.

We've had the SX Prestige X-Line for about 6 months and regularly beat the EPA rating. We get 22+ mpg weekly and on long highway drives I've hit 27mpg multiple times.

@@andersonrodriguez8258 just to be clear, those engine failures were covered under warranty and all owners that fell into that category were offered extended warranty for free to take it to 12 years and 120 or 150k miles. I owned a sonata and a Santa Fe with no issue. I serviced them myself and used 5w-30 full synthetic every 5k. Learned from Fords mistake running too thin of oil in most of their engines causing premature failure as well. That’s cool you don’t like either brand but the 3.8 is over 14 years old being it’s the old engine from Genesis, absolutely amazing powertrain with zero issues. Nothing to worry about with a free 10 year 100k warranty anyways. Plenty of reasons why it’s the most sought after SUV. I can’t afford a new one but I’d have no issue buying a used one.

The CX-90 is essentially a 4 seater when you get up in the trims. Not a fan. The Honda is infinitely useful it the interior is bland. The Highlander is less comfortable than a Tucson. I’m looking forward to seeing the Grand Highlander in person. Hopefully it’s not boring on the inside.

No doubt the Kia/Hyundai brands have made strides in manufacturing excellent, exciting new vehicles. But I still think they have a long way to go to convince a segment of the auto buying public that their vehicles are reliable. It wasn't that long ago when these 2 brands were known for making crappy transmissions and engines that caught on fire. They're making strides in improving quality, but they're just not there yet for me. I would stick with the Lexus equivalent.

Hyundai/Kia v6 engines are excellent, but those Theta 2 I-4 engines are very problematic. The good news is, those engines are almost completely phased out of the lineup. The Sonata hybrid, Kona N & Elantra N are the only vehicle left with those engines, and will be phase out in 2025 on the next generation models.
