11:36, 12:56 For those who don't know (including some car designers), those sharp points are inspired by the Katana sword. Toyota made this symbolic design first on the LFA; if you take a closer look at a LFA, you will see that, as Toyota pointed out, it is based on the Katana blade, mainly on the sharp point or edge. So they took these principles and applied them to all of their models; these types of lines can be found on all of their cars after the LFA. Even on the front headlights you can see the KATANA deisgn.

Yes. Great point. I do remember that. I wasn't sure if it was on this model but it makes sense. It's beautifully executed for the 2023 Nissan Z from the A to C pillar. Thanks for commenting!

7:40 what's the name of that color. That's my color right there. Black wheel arches makes the wheels appear bigger

I agree what you said about the design. New Prius looks such great! Especially when compared to the outgoing model.

Design looks great overall. It feels like they took some inspiration from Tesla, Ferrari, Seat to implement it in a smart way.

Funny thing is you compared the old Prius PRIME which looks better than the standard version. Completely different front and rear on the prime. I'm glad with this new gen the standard and prime look the same.
@DriventoDraw2 жыл бұрын
Sure...but the same issues exist within all older variants of the Prius. Overly designed with too many details.

@@DriventoDraw yep I was gonna get an ioniq hybrid because I hated the look of the Prius so much. I thought the 3rd gen looked better than the 4th gen even. But Hyundai killed off the ioniq hybrid that this new 5th gen Prius is everything I wanted.

Great design analysis.. but music during your taking points is a little too loud to hear and focus on you!

Rear door handle is just killing me. Why did they hide it! Make absolutely no sense.

Basically inspired by Tesla, keeping design elements of Prius alive.

The last one with the Batmobile rear and Lexus Civic front--no. This one reminds me of a 2012 Elantra having a love child with a 2014 MKZ, both of which had redeeming design qualities. You know the Prius name had to be strong to even keep it with such a wonderful upgrade in appearance.
@DriventoDraw2 жыл бұрын
Yeah...that is true. It DOES have a little of the MKZ at the rear. MKZ was pretty nice when it came out but was "heavy" looking. It was smart for Toyota to redesign this car and get rid of all the busy lines.

It’s so weird, everyone in the world pronounces Prius as Pree-us or Pree-iss - why on earth does he say Pre-yous?

@@GregorBlacksmith Correct. Force of bad habit for me. Will fix it in the next video. Thanks for the awareness.
