Looking to pick this board up and debating the 159 or the 161 I’m 6’2” 235lb advanced intermediate snowboarder gonna be riding in CO. Any recommendations on size would be greatly appreciated!

@@chriswoodard8813 26 cm waist is mid wide at best but I have big feet so my perception may be a bit twisted. But yeah, probably want this closer to your regular size unless you really charge and bomb hard in the back country.
@chriswoodard8813
@chriswoodard8813 Жыл бұрын
@@EssenceOfTrance yea I’m an anomaly 6’2,190 and wear a size 9 to 9.5. 26cm is a wide board. I normally don’t ride anything wider than a 25.3 cm which is the width of the 159 pYL (regular). Yes website they show how much surface area each of their boards have and this board in a 157 is about the same as the Pyl (regular version) in a 159. I ride the Hybrid Uninc and their 153 which has a waist width of 26cm has the same surface area as the PYL in 159.
@EssenceOfTrance
@EssenceOfTrance Жыл бұрын
@@chriswoodard8813 I'm probably buying a Warca or Hybrid for this season. Most likely it will be the Warca as I already have a more directional board. Going to get a 153 most likely which has more surface area than the 159 PYL and about the same as the 157 PYL Uninc. I hate my big feet, ruling out so many boards for me.

Looking at the PYL Uninc or Hybrid this year. Wanting a good carving on groomer(not bombing most of the time) that can handle powder and trees well both mellow and steep pitch. Had knee reconstruction on my back leg (weak) so the more setback of the uninc is a plus in powder but the softer more playful shape of the hybrid is a plus. Recommend either of these and sizing more than the other for 6'2" 190 sz 10.5? Hybrid 157 or 161 or PYL Uninc 159 or 161? Cheers
@AngrySnowboarder
@AngrySnowboarder Жыл бұрын
You probably want that PYL since you're going to be in some steeps from time to time. I'd get the 59 if you're in lighter snow otherwise bump it up to the 61 for heavier snow. The 59 will be easier to maneuver and with a rehabbed knee this might be better for you.
@MrSpenk11
@MrSpenk11 Жыл бұрын
@@AngrySnowboarder appreciate the quick response. I was leaning toward the 59 for maneuverability and not having to overwork or tire out doing so. Your reviews helped dial in my choices and this just solidified it. Cheers

Hey I've been racking my brain with potential buyers remorse on the UnInc in a 155 and would greatly appreciate an opinion - I got a parkish twin (Jibsaw) and a swallowtail powder board (Nitro Pow) in my quiver and am looking for the last piece of the puzzle. I love bombing groomers with long hard carves while dipping into trees but also challenging myself on choppy steeps. Did I make a mistake going with a volume shifted board since I already got a pow and want to charge? Should I maybe size up for more stability or is there a board you think would be better suited? 5'8 165 sz8.5 - Would seriously appreciate any advice

@@AngrySnowboarder I’d say advanced rider on slopes/groomers but lack of versatility which makes it a more intermediate rider. Sometime laid back sometimes charging (not super hard charging though). Looking for something comfy with good dampness and shock absorption to avoid tiring feet. Torn between union force/atlas and nitro phantom+ which seems to be on the stiffer side yet giving a bit of play and SUPER comfy binding.

Hey Avran, thanks for another awesome review! I'm debating between getting the Yes PYL UnInc DCP or CAPiTA Kazu Kokubo Pro (both 2024) for all mountain riding + powder. It depends on the bushings you put in them. With the softs their kind of surfy, it’s what I use for my pow and park setup . With the stiff bushings they are more aggressive think all mountain freestyle leaning to all mountain. The mediums are just kind of in between.

So going on what Zach said, the Selects laterally are similar to an Atlas/Atlas Pro, but in the toe to heel it's a little looser. I gave them as a recommendation so it covers all basis of riders from hard charger to something more all mountain.
