I can’t decide between the Yes Standard 156, the Captica Mercury 157, Jones Mtn Twin 157 or another recommendation (not Burton) as a quiver killer snowboard. Right now I’m riding a Salomon Assassin 155 which is just a tiny bit small for all mountain but I’ll keep it as a park board. I’m an advanced 15+ years All Mountain rider 5’10 and 175-180lbs. Help!

Would appreciate any opinions...I went from a 161.5 directional twin Libtech T Rice Goldmember Fundamental with XC2 BTX which was super responsive and relatively stiff, made for just bombing down the hills. As I got older I thought I wanted something more mellower and playful and got a Bataleon Boss last year (similar to the current Evil Twin+). I couldn't get used to the washy 3BT feeling after years of such a responsive edge on the LibTech and especially the magnatraction that saved my ass and gave me way more confidence at speed in hard packed/icy patches. Would a board like the standard uninc be a nice middle ground where it's more playful than the LibTech but still provide good hold or would it be too similar to the LibTech I had?
@AngrySnowboarder
@AngrySnowboarder Жыл бұрын
It's not going to be more playful because it doesn't have center reverse. It's going to feel more rigid and responsive. The nice thing is that you do get added contact points underfoot which grip exceptionally well.

Great video. Looking to buy a new board to go alongside my Korua Dart, currently deciding between this, Capita Indoor Survival and the K2 Tony Hawk Party Platter. Looking for an all mountain freestyle board that I can ride fairly fast and aggressively - not too bothered about it's performance in powder. Any thoughts on which one I should go for?

So here is the thing, I want a new board and there isnt really a good reason, my current jones frontier is just fine (50ish days old), but do I stop being a pussy and get the Yes standard uninc or will full on camber kill me? Or do I get the regular Yes Standard with camrocker? At what point do you just go for straight up camber? Id class myself as a intermediate-advanced rider currently. Is the uninc version just that much better of a board compared to the normal version? I mean, people used to learn on camber its only now you have 923 choices that is not camber.

I have the regular standard and cant decide if I should get a deck to compliment, cus I keep saying - eeh my deck can do that! Its not the tools, its the artist! I was considering a more playful twin deck that can still handle the all mtn speeds, but can slow down and be a little more butterable for flatground MFM’s and 180’s in and out. Standard does great and dosnt feel catchy, but I have to put my weight really far over nose/tail to get a taller press. I like the spring out tho. Sorta wanted a full camber just to try that, considered the evil twin+ or fun kink. Or keep the standard as the playful deck and get something new like the good ol burton custom camber, or huck knife… PYL UNINC DCP… Im east coast vermont so edge hold is another factor, as well as wide board for 11.5 boots.. standard is the only board Ive ever really ridden so Im not sure if I should keep it as the playful deck and get a full camber. Or if I should lean into my joy of buttering and get more of a noodle side hit stick. Ty - proud patreon member of you and bombhole podcast lol

The camber profile is more aggressive on this as it's not camrocker. Dampening wise the UMT is more damp. On edge I think the UMT grips better and has an easier turn initiation but this board has more power right under foot. If you're doing more tree runs you don't want camber you want camrocker, makes it easier to turn when it gets tight.

Thanks for the video. I was really torn between the Standard and Standard Uninc, and ultimately decided on the regular Standard. Just don't see myself needing that extra aggressiveness, especially coming from a K2 Raygun as my old deck. The hybrid camber of the Standard creates a more jack-of-all-trades board which should perform better in deep powder and feel a bit more playful. How would you suggest choosing between the regular Standard and Standard Uninc?

Exactly how you decided on it. Aggressiveness and camber profile.
