I work in sales at the largest BMW dealer in Texas. We received 6 XM’s for the entire year of 2023 and they all sold. What I can tell you is that the type of buyer was not your typical X5M buyer (which is usually someone coming from a smaller M model and needs an SUV). So I’m not sure why so many people keep comparing the two. You mentioned in the video that you don’t understand the comparison to the G Wagen, well those are the types of people who are buying XM’s. Nicely put, they aren’t car people.

Interesting, this is exactly what I thought. Value is up to what people are willing to pay. This seemed to me, to be, ... Dunno how to say it... Like a luxury bag or something. People spend 30K for them or more, because of perceived value. It's not targeting x5m buyers. Some used to think this was -ugly- unattractive but then Tesla showed what ugly really looks like.

@@Flip_Angle correct. It’s all about image with the XM. The guy I sold one to never owned a BMW before. He traded two vehicles, a Trackhawk and GLE 63s. He never asked the typical M car buyer questions. His biggest concerns were how the exhaust sounds, all the lighting features.

Here in Canada the XM starts at $246,344.20 and is available with 22" or 23" wheels. Winter wheels are the 22" ones at just over $10K a set of 4. Snow tires are extra...

I thought this higher trim package was called the Red Label, not just Label. Going on their site to build one, and it is just Label. That to me sounds really stupid. It should definitely be Red Label since the XM logo is in red, you can get the exterior trim in red, you can get red trimmed wheels, and the interior trim and seats only come with the red on them. Plus, for this much money, you still don't get ventilation for the rear seats. X5, X6, and X7 should all have that as an option, yet they don't. Also, BMW needs to add a digital rear view mirror to each of these.

Most dealers only received a few in stock. You’re just not going to go to your local BMW dealer and see XM’s lined up on the lot like an X5.

I wish BMW would just build a functional purposeful, off road capable SUV with a least a rear locking diff that you can actually tackle the ruff stuff? I don't understand their logic with building just high performance vehicles that don't really do anything other than "go fast"? I know they had a real locking diff on the first generation X7's but they discontinued that feature? Build a stand alone real SUV/SAV that can go off the beaten path? The red accents are still available as a no cost option, however it’s not standard like the press photos showed. My dealership is receiving one that was ordered by a customer, that’s arriving next year. Matte black with red accents.

Based on the SPECS, the hybrid system is useless. It makes no difference on the performance and just to make it heavier. The range on gas sucks (250 miles @18.6 gallons)

It does make a difference to the performance. You get instant torque from the elec. I’m also getting 17mpg around town and 20.5mpg highway giving more than 250 miles of range.
