According to the guy at the Innova booth at Portland Open, the reason for the bubble rims is because the glow additive adds quite a bit of weight so they had to put air bubbles in the rim to keep them a legal weight.

Just for everyone to know. I have had two so far. A blue rim and a black rim replacement, after i threw the blue on hole 18 at waco. Their flights are way different. My blue was a meathook but beat in quick and reminded me of my 2023 run at the beginning. Plastic was durable. Now this black rim is a whole different story. I have had it for 2 rounds. It’s overstable out of the box but glides further than my blue. It’s a bomber. However the plastic feels different than my blue rim. After 1 tree hit the black has a small chunk off the rim. The plastic in this one feels considerably more flaky. I have never seen a disc knick that much plastic off after it’s first tree.

FYI, the lastest stock halo destroyer runs are pretty varying in stabilities, I found the “old” style red/pink rim with white core have an aggressive wing making them really stable

Great to see you shredding my home course, the scenic views and the huge open bomber hole 9 make it tons of fun for all types. Wish I’d run into ya on the course but it’s hard with 3 kids to make it out more than once a week and not feel like a jerk to my wife and kids haha. Got a sick dyed one from throwjoes a little while back. Thing is still pretty beefy for me. I also have a black rim 2022 calvin and that one is the flippiest calvin ever made besides the 2020 and 2019 runs, i think. I also have a white rim 2022 and the difference between the black rim and white rim 22's is monumental. The white rim one I've had in my bag since they came out and it's gotten decently beat in by now and it's still the beefiest disc in my bag, lol.

Absolute best run of Cal *Des is the 23 LVC Halo. That thing flys perfect for a strong forehander (65-70mph). Very consistent and super dependable overstability, with a touch of dome but feels flat in the hand. That paired with a 4x PM that turns, glides and goes before fading back is the ticket.

The latest halo runs have been curious. The latest stock and proto glow halos are definitely less stable than the old halos, by quite a bit. They throw really well(the ones I have), but the biggest issue I have seen is consistency. My buddy has a purple 2024 Calvin one that is legit flippy, while I have 2 chartreuse that are similar to this video. Overall, I'd agree with the "Am Halo Destroyer" tag. It's a good disc, but not a Calvin Destroyer of old! Also send me this new disc release Tony B. Let me put the standstill beatdown on it :)

I also did a comparison between the 2021, 2023 and 2024s at 400 ft of elevation. Found identical results. The new ones bombs but is not a wind fighter that my 2021 and newer 2023 are. Wish i bought like 10 2021s. What is the 2024 equivalent to the 2021 Calvin?

Your factoid about throwing distance drivers nose up is why I don't throw them too much, also if you throw nose up a domey disc actually subtracts glide. Ever seen a parachute? So the statement, domey discs glide more is not true for most disc golfers, only true if you consistently throw nose down

Serious question. What’s the difference between an over stable Destroyer and over stable Time Lapse? It seems they are super similar only the Destroyer gets credit for its stability and the Time Lapse is ridiculed for it. Is it just hand feel?
