If nothing else, the fact that things have gone along with a literal dementia patient as president (multiple times, happened with Regan too), shows how little the president actually matters, and their supposed importance is the best secret that the senate and house have ever pulled off. Because we all got a little Karen in us and we want there to be one guy to point at and blame.
@broadestsmilerАй бұрын
Absolutely -- every president since FDR has been more and more reliant on their administrations to carry out their duties rather than having to execute it all themselves. It's a double edged sword in that it helps us remain stable even with a faltering President but also increases the bloat of the bureaucracy leading our country, leading to less effective decision-making.

The most drastic changes you will see in your daily life will come from your local politicians in your city/county/state. Your real voice on the federal stage is your congressional reps. The role of the president has become increasingly significant post-9/11. The Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act have granted the executive branch sweeping powers, particularly in areas of oversight, surveillance, and warfare. This means the president can initiate military action against another nation without needing congressional approval. Additionally, numerous government agencies fall under the direct control of the executive branch, further amplifying the president's influence.

They want to insectivise state run educational institutions to insectivise autonomy of the educational standard due to the failure of the "one size fits all" style of policy led by the federal education program. The new policies do not abandon federal support of state run education programs. They are going to implement a federal grant program to schools that show effectiveness when it comes to the amount of honor roll students who score high on standardized tests that measure the overall familiarization of general education. America's educational programs are vastly different from Europe's. There are geographical, cultural and nuanced differences that complicate "Blanket" programs that Europe enjoys.

I believe if the US is to survive for the next 100 years it is inevitable to get rid of 2 party system and come up with something new. Give me a party that is center-right on social issues and center-left on fiscal issues and will keep peace in the world while not starting new wars and I'll be happy. But no. You either get a fucking extreme on one or the other side and have to decide which one is a lesser of two evils AND in the shadows they are still both controlled by the same big companies and donors. It is disgusting what this beautiful country has become but the US hasn't been a true capitalist society for quite some time. We got freedoms for the people that didn't have it back in 1776 which is great, but we seriously downgraded on everything else that this country was built upon.
