I got my 2024 Ranger XLT back in August and it has surpassed my expectations. There is no extra charge on velocity blue. My Ranger has the same color, but is 2WD with the chrome package. I mostly drive in eco mode and have been averaging 23 to 24 mpg city/hwy combined. I might would have gone for the Lariat to get a few more extras if I could have got it with the cloth seats. I can't stand leather as I feel it is hard, stiff, and makes me sweat. I don't understand why people like leather as I find cloth seats much more comfortable. So I am quite happy with the cloth seats in my truck. I especially like the view over the hood. It feels sporty to me, yet the visibility is very good. The stock stereo sounds great and thumps pretty good with the base turned up. Not sure where you get the steering is vague as I find it plenty responsive. Unless you mean it doesn't transmit much feedback from the road. I like that just fine as I find the steering to be silky smooth. Overall I am very happy with it and find it is a pure pleasure to drive. The size is perfect and makes it easy to park. The 2.3L ecoboost has plenty power and I say that having downsized from a full size Ram with the 5.7L Hemi. I think Ford has hit a home run with the new Ranger.

With the rapid decline of Toyota’s quality and in particular the Tacoma’s, this Ranger looks sharp and very competitive. Not made in Mexico like the Tacoma, but made in the good old USA. Gets my vote!

@G-Rated I mean, a lot of people will complain about anything, but truck people specifically tend to shun anything electronic in favor of Ol' Reliable mechanical solutions. I love push button start but it can be a little weird to remember what to do if your key dies (theres usually a spot to put the key to let it start the engine) I remember when it started becoming more popular a few years ago that a lot of truck guys said that they liked having a physical key and wouldn't buy a "working vehicle" with push button. Sentiment seems to be changing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Actually, at one point the second generation Ranger was the best selling mid-sized pickup second from the Tacoma when it sold over 101,000 in 2020. Ford has potential to be on the heels of the Tacoma with this new version.

Looks vanilla and very underwhelming that goes for both the interior and the exterior. I saw a new GMC Canyon on the road today and that thing caught my eye from the opposite side of the road the design is striking and it looks expensive. The Ford looks like a Maverick that ate too much.

I have a '21 Ranger, which I like, but I am not a Ford fanboy. The front on these new Rangers is odd looking. IMHO, the front only looks good on the Raptor. Also the XLT is meh. Ford is making people spend more for the Lariat to get features that should be across all trims (like push to start).

Crazy amount of money for what is being offered and given what can get for buying a full size truck including the F150 but certainly not limited to that at the moment as pure play bev full size trucks really start to ramp up here Q4 2024 from Rivian, Tesla and of course Ford and GM the latter of which is very much rolling out charging infrastructure now. I think buyers would do well to follow the progress on the absolutely massive Hyundai-Kia production facility that has just started production near here in Southeastern Georgia and will include a battery production facility as well. I'm not really sure where the market is for ICE Platform engines and powertrains is at the moment other than in the US Truck market starting with the Ford Maverick but yes absolutely moving up from there to some absolutely huge engine and powertrain options for that going on some time now including a massive 7.3 liter pushrod V8 from Ford. Dodge has kicked off a massive price war by clearing inventory of in my opinion all very good trucks to include Jeep Gladiators so as long as you're not crazy serious about towing and hauling pays to shop around right now as there is still so much product en route but also so much good product en route not all BEV at all but pure play ICE Platform and not all trucks either but certainly there is that.

Great car, just bought one. Just a horrible pricing trend in the car industry. If ford knocked down the price it would be the best selling vehicle in their lineup. Seriously, great updates but leather seats and push to start being a $10k upgrade is insane. Only reason I got the truck is for the utility. The simple fact is that’s extremely old thinking because 4 cylinder engines today are significantly better & more powerful than any V-6 from even less than 10 years ago and a lot of V-8 from 20 years ago. As an example of how far engine tech has come there are 3 cylinders that are faster & have more HP than the V-8 from 90 years ago. For what people are going to do with this truck (or any in this segment) 4 cylinders is way more than enough.

I bought one I got a 24 ranger xlt sport , high tech package , locking rear diff , heated seats adaptive cruise control , self parking feature , 360 degree camera , towing package , side steps , folding mirrors , lane centering , etc I paid 42,000 base model sr5 taco was 45,000 Chevy Colorado similary spec was 45,000 as well! This truck is double the interior room of the taco and Colorado ! And has been amazing to drive ! Ford has knocked it out of the park with this truck

Lmo It's been in the Ranger since 2019 and the Mustang since 2015. We would know by now if it was a shitty engine. People got the previous gen Rangers tunned up enough to run 11s 1/4 miles. The 2.7 twin-turbo V6 is now a option in the regular rangers too. What money are you saving? Toyotas are ridiculously expensive on the used market. That old V6 isn't gonna save money, and Tundra certainly isn't with 14 mpg. Hell probably buy a discounted brand new Ranger or Colorado for less than a few year old Tacoma.
