How is it you can get a sunroof in the Maverick but not a Ranger?
@davidfrania8990Ай бұрын
Okay, pardon me while I vent. I've been driving for 55 years without lane-keeping assist. And I'm sure it's nice to have, but if you don't know how to stay in your lane...stay home. That is not a necessity, just something more to go wrong. I also find that there are way too many people on the road today who aren't paying attention to what's going on around them. Cars are not sophisticated enough yet that you don't need to pay attention to what you are doing. Sorry, but that's an observation I've made so consider this a public service announcement. As for the Ranger, I really like the looks! It's not trying to look like anything other than what it is...a truck. And I like the mid-size aspect of it! I never miss your videos! Take care, Muzios!
@MicahMuzioАй бұрын
David, I think you've made a fair assessment regarding driver distraction. We shouldn't need technology to keep folks in their lane but, as you rightly noted, many drivers just don't pay attention. If lane keeping assist saves my family from a driver drifting into our lane, then I'm glad its available.
@davidfrania8990Ай бұрын
@@MicahMuzio Sorry Micah, I didn't mean it as a dig. I'm not against technology, I'm just afraid people can sometimes get too dependent on it. The automobile isn't capable of doing everything yet, so people need to keep their driving skills intact. What really bothers me are those who are more tuned in to their smartphones than their driving. And we all see them everyday. Driving while on the phone is illegal here in Ohio and yet I see it all the time. Keep up the good work!

Even mid level TRD Tacoma trims and other competitors have ventilated seats when the Lariat doesn’t.
@josephharvey5742Ай бұрын
Most midsize pickup trucks have ventilated seats which I'm use to in my full size truck. This is a must option for me and would keep me from buying one. Also another feature that I wished they'd have is heads up display. I'm glad they don't have a moonroof, I have it on all my vehicles and rarely use them. This will be my next truck after they add the features I mentioned.

Try getting a Tacoma or a Colorado for less with some of the features the Ranger has. For a comparably equipped Tacoma it is several thousand more. The Colorado doesn't have trailer backup assist, offers only a black interior, and the front passenger seat only has manual 4 way adjust regardless of trim level level while the Ranger offers both a manual or power 8-way adjustable front passenger seat. You also have to go with convenience packge 3 on the Colorado with leather seats to get a fold-down center arm rest in the back seat. The option packages for the Colorado are also needlessly complex and the price runs up quickly the more options you get. I say this because I did a thorough comparison between the Ranger and the Colorado. There are mostly minor trade-offs in options between them. I ended up getting the Ranger because the price was only slightly more than the Colorado, but offered more options that I wanted. As for the keypad on the door, I thought why bother when you get Ford Pass that let's you unlock it with your phone.

Hate the vertical screen. You’re always looking down instead of up and the screen is way too busy. Minimalism or better organization of the infotainment screen is best. For that Chevy really hit a home run with the Colorado. The portrait screen is unnatural and belongs in a Tesla.
@ALMX5DPАй бұрын
What do you mean by unnatural and belongs in a Tesla? I get the ergonomic argument somewhat, though all our smart phones are used mostly in a portrait orientation so seems like that is natural aside from the point about looking down when in this context.

Yes, I could not agree more. You should not have to buy a lariat model to get keyless ignition or smart key entry. I had a XLT Ford maverick hybrid and it had a physical key to start it. Ford hello if someone is going to spend a minimum of $34,000 they do not want to stick the key in the ignition. And I’m sure that the XLT Ford ranger is well over $40,000 for a XLT 4 Wheel Dr. No one wants a key . No I do not own a Ford maverick anymore because I got tired of getting a recall notice in the mail. Every other month I had seven recalls in the short eight months that I had this vehicle was terrified to take it on a trip because it may turn into a brick. #FordBuildingSomeQualityIntoYourProduct.
@davids1816Ай бұрын
A top of the line Maverick is in the 36k range. Unless you tow, this is minimally more capable. An EcoBoost F150 is not hugely more expensive and should have some incentives and is way more capable with a 1 mpg penalty. It also has a gigantic back seat instead of a penalty box like mid-sized trucks. Mid sized trucks are lousy value and honestly fitting in a garage is their sole advantage.

Which you can't control and almost no effect to upper body at first place. This is why, having a rear vents do matter, nowadays, if not decades ago.
@boost331Ай бұрын
@@mertersun you can control them in most cars including this one with how much flow you direct to the floor. And I cant say I have ever had a situation that it mattered where the air moved from. Do you sit on top of the air vents in your home? When at a restaurant do you request a table under the vent to ensure you have adequate airflow across your upper body? Set the temp to your desired setting and the whole cabin will maintain that temp. 70 degrees is 70 degrees whether it blows on you or not. I know people get a hard on for stuff like this for some reason, and everyone is welcome to their opinion, but IMO it doesnt make a bit of difference. My family buys at least 1 new vehicle per year and usually has 5-6 at any given time. Some with rear vents and some without. Not once has anyone ever noticed or cared if they were located on the back of the armrest or under the seat.
@mertersunАй бұрын
@@boost331 Totally wrong, you can't turn it off for rear seats for example. Or, yhou can't control which direction you want air to flow. Floor vents, only heats up feet, barely helps upper body. This is usually managed by front vents. Most perhaps, you don't have a kid, or didn't ever have the advantage of a rear vent with kids, but you being not need of rear vents, don't mean they are important for some people. (e.g. some people, let alone rear vents, strictly ask for ceiling vents, as it's the most efficient way of adjusting temperature at the back seats) And, for your information, setting temperature 70 degrees, doesn't mean it is 70 degrees at the back, because a/c system only senses the temperature around the control unit. Again, rear vents. definitely make difference for some, especially if you have extreme hot or cold conditions, where front and rear temperatures significantly differ.
@boost331Ай бұрын
@@mertersunI think u are being a bit of a diva about it really, but whatever works. After 30 years of driving hundreds of cars in Chicago climate (-30 to 125) with my own kids and grand kids it have never once been brought up. It CAN be controlled through the floor vent settings in hvac and fine tuned using fan speed and the diverters on the front vents if you are really that anal about it. If the location of the rear vents is something you even pay attention to, I would hate to see how nit picky you would be with everything else in life.
