It needs killer features, such as acccess to MacOS apps or more Pro apps or I'll be dropping on an M2. I don't see the benefit yet of an M4 without software that can actually use it :(

I just want to run the exact same Excel application on ipad and Mac. Yes, I know you can kinda do it now but I want/need all the functionality. "That's microsoft's issue". Yeah, I don't care. Let me run actual mac software on the ipad then. Can the M4 do that? Didn't think so.☘

My guess is that it is all smoke screens to flush out leakers and that they will have the M3 and not be much of a useful jump over the M1 unless you are using the machine for power production all day.

Ok. But I want it to run MacOs. Illustrator on the ipad sucks. It would be great to be able to do everything on ipad instead of sitting at the desk causing great neck pain.

I'm waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, which I hope will be bigger than my 14.6” Tab S9 Ultra. Incidentally, i have a cheap Alldoocube 8.4" mini tablet that has 8GB of physical RAM, 8 GB of virtual RAM, and combined storage of 768GB. It cost $160, and an $800 iPad mini can't touch it.

I decided not to get an Apple Silicon iPad Pro because Apple still won't let macOS apps run on it, and I could get a much more powerful MacBook Air for less than the cost of an iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard. Unless Apple changes their position on macOS for the iPad Pro, I'll stay away.
