I have a '24 ZX4RR 40th anniversary color version. I'm in Japan though so it's the full 77hp version and also with weak yen price I paid in total (taxed and registered) worked out to only around $8k USD so I would say I got a pretty good deal. If I was still living in US though with the nerfed version of it and higher price tag not sure I would have gone for it. I absolutely love it though not going to lie. That engine and color scheme it's going to be a forever bike for me.
@avalon1734Ай бұрын
Exactly why I won't buy one. I test drove a 6rr and 4rr anniversary and was completely underwhelmed. To get the 4rr up to 77hp you will spend more than a 6rr with a slipon. I ride a well tuned K7 Gixxer 750. If Suzuki offered a GSXR400r with an aluminium frame I might overlook the added cost to tune. As it stands now a hard pass. Really wish Kawi would release a new and improved 7r or rr anniversary with aluminum frame. I would get on team Kawi with that offering.

Honda 450RL has 1yr warranty & the Husqvarna te300/350 only has 30 day warranty 😡🤬 and both road registered. It is sad that we got the restricted version here in the US. I did the math and to get it tuned and flashed with a slipon is more than a ZX6rr. I can see the desire to get a modern inline 4 400 but I cant justify the price given the fact it is so watered down. If Suzuki was to offer an aluminum framed GSXR400r I might be tempted. Kawi couldnt even give it an aluminum frame. I test drove the 4rr and 6rr anniversary editions and felt completely underwhelmed. I drive a well tuned K7 gixxer 750. Come on Kawasaki, release a new and improved 7r or rr anniversary.

You'll know when you've been riding a long time. You won't look at the spec sheet. You wont know how powerful the bike is, how much it weighs and what the 0-60 time is. And when someone says, "I wouldn't get that, for that money I'd get ..........", you won't even bother to listen. The only thing that you will know and the only thing that will matter to you is how the bike performs for you, the way you ride it, where you ride and how you ride it. I learned to ride, off road, 41 years ago. I've been licensed for 30 of those years. I've ridden a host of bikes in that time. I even had a GSXR 750 in the garage at one stage. My current bike? A W800 with a whopping 47 rear wheel horsepower. Not because I'm old and slow. Because it works so well everyday and I can thrash it to within an inch of its life, and that's fun. You can't do that on a Buell Cyclone, and ST1100 or a GSXR 750. I wish I'd known all the way back when I was young, what I know today.

If there is only one thing that I could pass onto a less experienced rider when it comes to bike choice, don't try and keep up with the Jones's and don't kid yourself that "more" is somehow better. "Get a Honda CB 550/ Yamaha XJ650/Honda CX500", or something similar "All the bike you'll ever need and then some". "They're cheap, they don't break down, and if they do, there are parts everywhere for them... cheap". Of course, I was in my late teens/early twenties and knew far more at that age than the knowledge that they had collectively accumulated over the decades, didn't I. Oh well. They do say, you can't put an old head on young shoulders, don't they.

I completely disagree. I started my riding on 75 cc, 100cc, 185cc, and 250 cc dual sports 45 years ago. Then after long hiatus about 14 years ago got back into motorcycling and worked my way up the power and bike quality curve . The W800 is a budget retro bike. Old school tech with mediocre suspension, handling, and performance. Been there done those motorcycles until I could afford better.. I now ride 2022 Versys 1000 200+ mile days on the weekends and much prefer the benefits of liter bikes. Great power, amazing suspension, quality handling, and braking performance even on marginal quality roads. There is simply no comparison in smiles for the mile and filling the gaps in between in great comfort, added safety with 2-up capability and sport touring performance.

It's a nice bike. But expensive for what it is on the street. This bike made specifically for track use, and especially for people looking for smaller track bike, cause it has all the set ups you would want. On the street, it sucks, nonexistent torque to get the same torque as Ninja400/500, you need to rev it way higher, the same problem with zx6r or any 600cc supersport, I can say it's even less usable than zx6r, the only thing makes it's better for the street is slightly more comfortable seating position. You buy it for the sound. On the street, sport bike wise, RS660 probably the most usable middle weight and below for the money right now or the recent Suzuki GSX8R
