I recently saw the new Lexus TX in person and unfortunately it did not make a great first impression on me visually. While not ugly, the exterior styling seemed a bit odd and lacked the refined elegance I expect from a "luxury" SUV. Compared to segment leaders like the Volvo XC90, Genesis GV80, and BMW X5, the TX's design falls short in my opinion. It does not have the premium presence and prestige that sets apart true luxury vehicles. Even the Infiniti QX60 looks better in comparison. Simply put, I did not find the TX to look very luxurious. Of course, aesthetics are subjective. But in my view, Lexus needs to refine the TX's design in future model years to give it the wow factor that buyers expect in this class.

It was my understanding that the heads up display and digital rear view mirror are exclusive to the Luxury trim and it is not available on the Premium trim even with the tech package.

So where does this and GX land? Is GX more geared towards off road? I guess it’s like Highlander vs 4Runner?
@matthewwinkelman38677 ай бұрын
Hey Sofyan, I love the review; however, it appears you have a Luxury version (or pre-production) of the TX, not the Premium. The Premium technology package does not have several of the items that you are showing in your review, including the digital rearview and the HUD.

Based on what i can sees in the video only......the back of the driver and passenger seats craftsmanship is horrible. The back pockets looked so cheap....this TX is quanity and not quality.

An electrical door like Tesla? When electricity fails door won't open and the car catches on fire? More problems to fix and potentially roasting people inside? I still don't understand why car companies limit captain chairs on certain trims. Sure let me buy a family car that can only seat 4 people and if there is a 5th, I'll go put up that 3rd row that takes up a lot of trunk spaces. The American solution is to fit two whales in the back I guess.

The door handles have a fail-safe manual door handle/latch.
@oneslackr7 ай бұрын
"An electrical door like Tesla?" You act like that is new technology. Corvettes two generations ago had electric doors (exterior touchpads & interior door release buttons) starting back in 2005. By law any car with electric doors has to have back up manual release handles that can be used if the electrical system dies or in emergencies.
