I picked up my 2024 M3P about 5 days ago as a replacement for my 2018 M3P with about 55K mileage. I was happy with my older car but this one is much superior. Much quieter, better seats, better fit and finish, way better ride and, apparently, in insane mode, faster too. Thanks to Sofyan for explaining the acceleration differences among these driving modes. I need to test this out myself. By the way, my doors make a nice clunk when they close - a reassuring sound of high quality when I am inside. Tesla gave me a fair price for my older M3P too, a pleasant surprise. It turns out I bought a white on white, just like the one pictured and I've already gotten comments on its attractiveness, but I already knew I would since it replaces one just like it. I leased mine, and there is a clear indication that I received the $7500 rebate on the leasing forms. What can I say? Even though the interior is simple, it even looks sharper than the one I had with no fingerprints in the center console, a refined dash and even a couple of USB-C ports along with the hidden sentry mode outlet in the glove box. I must admit, however, that I am still working on the turn signal indicators being on the steering wheel and shifting on the screen. I have a lot of years of muscle memory to erase there!

What I found this generation since I’ve gone benchmarking, is notice that the soft touch material is much thinner this gen. But that’s redistributed to more parts of the cabin. So they sacrifice some of it to get more of it on surfaces. And compared to the model S/ X, the plastic holding the materials together underneath is thicker and less hallow, so it is technically more premium than a model S by material build. Just some fun interesting things most people wouldn’t notice.

Something else, is the Model 3 lost the purchase $7500 tax credit (I believe except for the performance model). Tesla's in general also went from having the most U.S. made cars (production but also components etc.) in 2023 to just the non refreshed Model Y in 2024. Guessing Tesla brought Chinese components here to reduce costs. Side effect is the Model Y is still one of the most U.S. made EV's you can buy but after that its the Honda and the VW ID 4 now, rather sad. Hopefully the Model Y doesn't follow the same path as the 3 on that, but we'll see.

@jonathanguito11684 ай бұрын
my napkin math translation of the range would give the M3P on the older EPA cycle a range of about ~325 miles on the 20s. The LR on the 18s is about ~368 miles. That horn press that didn't work for the first 3 presses is the worst part of any Tesla. Really a safety bug

My non Tesla horn is the same way when pushing on the corner. You want the horn in an emergency, you push in the middle. It works fine.
@TheReal_JG4 ай бұрын
You're supposed to push the middle. Pressing the corners slightly won't turn the horn on to mitigate accidental honks. My Mazda is the same where if I press the corner of the airbag/horn, it won't do anything.

In an emergency though? Any press anywhere the horn feature is should work. I have a 2018 Mazda and horn area works even when I press it with my pinky

Picked up a M3P in December of 2022 juuuuust before the price decreases and the announcement of this new refresh. I love my car but I have to admit I'm a little sorry I didn't know Highland was coming. Probably would have waited for it because my biggest complaint about my 2023 version is that the interior just doesn't _feel_ like that of a premium model car. The carbon fiber accents, the leather paneling on the doors, the ambient lighting, the bucket seats, the backseat touchscreen....I wish I had all of that in my current car.

FSD destroys Supercruise, which can't turn or do anything off the highway. 🤣
@G-Rated4 ай бұрын
That’s because SUPERCRUISE is a highway system. It was never designed to pull you into your driveway. SC is for longer distance drives. It’s not rocket science. FSD with multiple recorded collisions and accidents “destroys Supercruise” simply because it can do more tricks & maneuvers on its own at the expense of the driver’s increasing insurance premium and safety risk? Not to mention FSD only has more capability in the city/shorter distances. I’ve literally watched FSD run into people’s vehicles in the city. How many accidents has Supercruise been linked to since its release in 2017? ZERO. FSD hasn’t been out nearly as long yet it has already experienced more crashes. 😂 “FSD destroying SC” is definitely Tesla fanboy logic *only.* I’ll take safety and a better thought-out system over “most party tricks” every single day of the week especially while I’m in the vehicle or loved ones/people I care about. Smh 🤦🏽♂️
