The issue is the $81k major fu&%#ng you get with this price especially with Genesis poor resale value. Also putting white interior in a vehicle used every day is nothing but stupid design. Genesis is really bad with interior and exterior colors, at least for American market. Fingerprint start is stupid as well as round gear selector. Gear selector and hand brake is still needed. Forget all the stupid "design touches" and make reliable performance car to compete w/ Germans and Japanese at lower cost and better warranty.

We have a transportation company and have g90,g80's, and our next purchase will be the gv80. We have had no issues with out cars. One of them have over 320k miles on it. I would highly recommend Genesis!

Yep that's why I haven't got one. My friend has one and the wait time to get service is atrocious due to limited capacity at the dealer. The Hyundai dealership has also serviced his car but they often don't have a clue on what to do which means they have to keep the car for long periods why they're on the phone with a Genesis tech.

I feel like there were better Hyundai dealers to be Genesis dealers than the one they chose. It's surprising they didn't have the dealership in National City considering that's the main port the vehicles come out from. National City is also a more central location to 2/3rds the population of the county.

Personally, I’d buy a Genesis instead of a BMW/Mercedes/Audi/Lexus/Acura or Infiniti in this class of vehicles. Love the standard technology and overall quality of these vehicles. GV70 is my favorite crossover being a little smaller.

The issue for this vehicle will be GDI. They are a lot easier to maintain which helps with reliability. But GDI is going to be an Achilles heel. That and maybe the transmission. Some of their material choices are also less reliable and less cushy compared to something like a Chrysler. Chrysler's windshield glass tends to be thick which helps with rocks on the road. I find Genesis to have thin glass material by comparison. Chrysler also gets the basics of a seat much better.

And not sure what you're talking about with the glass. I had a 2019 G80 and the double glazed glass was the thickest glass I had seen on any vehicle I've owned.

I used to have a Lexus ES350 F Sport. In the end, I was so disappointed it was just a rebadged Camry with better interior and stiffer suspension. It was sluggish and drove like a boat. Got rid of it after a year. I drove a Genesis G70 and G80. Couldn’t believe the difference in quality and drivability. Drove and felt like nothing like any Hyundai. RWD architecture of the Genesis instead of the FWD of the Lexus made a huge difference.

Totally agree with you. I've driven a ES350 a few times as a loaner & I didn't like it at all, felt too much like a Camry like you said. I currently own a 2016 RWD GS350 F-Sport which is a far superior car IMO.

I love what Genesis has been doing. I only wish they would come out with a large SUV, similar in size to the Palisade. Hyundai/Genesis have some really under rated cars and SUV's. I only wish the fuel economy would be better, and on par with the German rivals. I think you get almost 100 more miles per fill up with the BMW x5. But overall, a great SUV. Keep up the excellent work guys.

I live in Korea. I owned the 2021 G70, got married and changed to the 2023 G80. Now that I have a baby, I am considering the GV80 vs the X5. The comfort and luxury is better for the GV80 vs the X5. However, the handling and drive thrill is much better in the X5. The X5 also has much better mileage, especially the X5 50e, so I was leaning towards the X5.. However, there is a leak/rumour that Genesis/Hyundai is making a 2.5 Turbo/Hybrid engine , which will be available for the 2026 year. I am considering on holding on to my G80 until then.. really liking the new GV80 but I hope they can get a better engine in this quickly..

It's a fine vehicle that doesn't quite match the best int he class in everything, but for the average buyer this is a supreme vehicle. The only real problem Genesis has is their dealer body. Once they move out the of the Hyundai dealers nationwide they will be a roll if this type of product keeps coming. Remember there is a six figure EV convertible coming an a giant GV90 EV SUV. It's only just starting.

My G90 is PERFECT‼️ Best car I’ve ever had. I have the last V8 engine (2021) and I’m going to keep this car in perfect working order cuz I never want to get rid of it 😍 This car runs smooth as butter and shifts with no sound or jerking transition. It goes from 0 to 60 in seconds. Love it 👍🏼

My 2021 Genesis GV80 Prestige 3.5 has been flawless; I would like to see wireless Apple CarPlay and massage functions on the passenger seat. Digital rear view mirror. It competes very well with the Europeans and better than Lexus. No one talks about the great warranty…5 years or 60K miles and 3 year maintenance included.

I think the whole "statement grill" thing is kind of played out. I'm hoping future Genesis models go more GV60-ish rather than continue to enlarge the grill. Lexus, BMW and others have played it to a fare-thee-well. Perhaps the EV future helps, but I'm starting to doubt that.

82K, missing air suspension, only 18 speakers sound system, and only massage on the driver’s seat, Acura MDX Type S has air suspension, 31 speakers, and both front massage seats for around 75K, although Acura does missing 2nd row seat ventilation and power seats, but I prefer manual 2nd row seats for quick fold down and up.

Everything is perfect except fuel economy. BMW X5 with inline 6 gets superior fuel economy and that BMW B58 engine is proven reliable even more so than Genesis 3.5T engine

I had a BMW X5 with turbo inline 6. No issues with the engine except for a minor oil leak after 15k miles. However, I had to replace the fuel scavenging system, 3 recalls, rear turn light literally falling off, overly stiff steering wheel, etc. I ditched it after 25k miles (past warranty because I only drove it 5k miles a year). I was constantly worried something would go wrong.

Genesis has already surpassed all U.S. and Japanese car brands in both emotional and technical aspects. Perhaps, considering the price, you can directly compete with German luxury car brands and get satisfaction similar to Mercedes-Benz and Bmw. If you look at a few cheap Hyundai Kia cars and judge a Genesis car, it is nonsense. The person who delivers more than 8,000 cars a year made in Germany, the U.S., Japan, Korea, and France is being honest. Recently, Hyundai Kia Motors is more comfortable and less broken than Toyota, Honda and Nissan, and Genesis cannot be compared to American or Japanese brands except Mercedes Benz and BMW. If you are brainwashed into Toyota's durability myth and Audi's German brand image, try driving about 10 Genesis.

The prices are not close, is it? In Canada, the top of the line GV80 is 92k, the cheapest X5 without any options added is 89k. If you option the X5 to have similar options you'd be looking at around 15-20k more. The Genesis also comes with 5yr 100k warranty. Getting something similar on the BMW will cost an extra 2-3k on top.
