TC is right on all points when it comes to this board. This board is awesome. I grab this when I don't know what the snow conditions are because I know it will handle anything. I ride the 155 even though I am 165lbs because I like to charge hard with it.
@pauld984Ай бұрын
I way the same but someone told me the 155 would be too much board and should go the 152. Whats the downside of going 155.
@zoenАй бұрын
@pauld984 there is no downside for me. It's super stable and I didn't feel any delay from edge to edge with the 155. It depends on where you ride. I ride in the PNW so the snow is wetter making it heavier. So a longer board makes more sense. If you ride in Colorado; you can ride a shorter board

@fandam801Ай бұрын
@@pauld984 size 8 then, yeah you definitely don’t want the 155, I wear a 9.5 and the 155 still felt like wearing clown shoes at slower speeds. I sold it and should have gotten the 152. Even the 152 might be a little too wide for those 8’s. Look into the 148 maybe. For another volume shift board consider the K2 Excavator in the 150.

I got a 158 gremlin this year after 6 years on a few Jones hovercrafts. I felt the tail is very soft so I moved my stance forward. I think it makes the board more balanced in terms of its flex. Pops well. Can even land and ride switch just fine (though haven’t tried landing switch in pow yet). Another vote for the Gremlin. If you’re considering it. Pull the trigger. You’ll have a ton of fun.

Amen @JNU92! My 155cm digs trenches (still holds it's own in pow)! Carves way better and quicker edge to edge than I even considered. Ended up selling a couple, more turn specific boards that stopped being as fun as soon as I ripped a few laps on the Gremlin. (185lbs before gearing up, sz11 boots)

@pnwmedia1550Ай бұрын
@@pauld984 sorry for the late reply. Yeah, the 152cm is probably a better choice. The 148cm may be too short on those pow days. I usually ride a 159cm all around the resort on standard twins and a 165cm standard twin in deep stuff. I take my 155cm Gremlin through everything and super happy I don't have to grab another stick out of my ride as conditions change.

I have the same stats but ride a 148 gremlin - love it and i rip it between off piste to deep pow to groomers to the jump line (S to XL) and everything in between. If i would size up anymore i would just have too much board under my feet with the volume shift nature of this board (it would end up too planky, slow edge trans, heavy swing weight). I speculate its due to my shorter height and leg length/anatomy that keeps it nice and maneuverable at 148 with no sacrifice to speed or any other capacity.
