Just got the Bataleon Cameleon, super fun, calls for speed, forgiving, so nice to cruise. But, there are serious setbacks: 1) horrible on hard ice and shattered terrain, def missing the magnetraction from my other libtec for edge hold. 2) carbon springs will send you to space in moguls, it definitely springs you up

The nidecker thruster 2025 is even softer than its previous versions. On nidecker's official site they listed it as "mid-soft" and I was told by their support that the escape plus is the closest model to the thruster 2024 (used to listed as mid-stiff)

Hey Avron - u pointed me at the Pencil last week, thx. Now deliberating on pencil vs Chameleon vs NS Nokhu as a compliment/alternative to a Jones Mt Twin. My priorities are powder, carving, trees and speed. But I know I’ll spend a lot of time on piste surfing and bombing push piles. What would you pick?

Hey Avran, I am helping my dad find a new snowboard. He is getting older (60+ years), so his Nidecker Legend 2011 is now starting to be too high effort/energy to properly ride. What he is looking for is a board for riding groomers only, that gives him good grip in icey conditions (we experience those often enough) and is more easy going to ride and carve at slower speeds. From your top 5 lists I imagine that this one gets closest to what he needs, but I am still not sure if these boards are still too agressive? Which board from this list would you recommend (I am thinking the Nidecker Thruster), or should I be looking at a different category of board altogether?

Which would you recommend for best experience on Ice Coast crud on crust and machine groomed slopes? I end up doing a lot of gripped turns because of the snow conditions. There's never any powder.

Would you downsize on the Fartcarver 6000 like they say on the Jones website? I already have the 9000 on my normal size but thinking of getting them both. The 9000 is great but it's really not a board to relax on 😅

I have the 2024 Peaceseeker and have ridden it thru some day-old wet pow and some fresh pow in the eastern sierras. Floats real nice

Man, the Bataleon Chameleon sounds great but looks horrible! There are some things from the ‘80s I truly miss: a full-bush when cuffs & collars used to match, new-wave punk music out of Los Angeles, the Reagan economy. Ski and snowboard graphics? Not so much.
