Maths under pressure is hard!
@cdh794 жыл бұрын
@@runningchannel there are tips and tricks to make maths easier.. especially when under pressure.. just an example: 10000 divided by 400 is equal to 100 divided by 4 (remove the equal amount of trailing zeros when dividing), which in itself is much simpler.. or (while not in the challenge it might be useful at one point) if anything needs to be divided by 5, just multiply it by 2 and then divide it by 10 (just move the comma), which is much easier than trying to actually divide by 5 in most cases.

Hi you The Running Channel Thanks for your reply back, Using maths, because I (The Running Channel) being a maths teacher like to use maths, (without sounding rude to Anna) I wouldn't suspect her to be as good as me at maths. It took me over 8 minutes to complete it, now I'm being kind to The Running Channel when I say 18 minutes for the running of 2.6 miles (for Anna) Because a, it took me over 8 minutes, B, that's without getting the answer confirmed, C, that's without getting my running gear on, D, that's without myself getting out of the door. And e, I wouldn't surprise Anna to get this very tough maths challenge that so quick. Being very very kind when saying 18 minutes for Anna to run 2.6 miles. As runners, as runners keen, we all know seconds add up, 18 minutes for 2.6 miles in just under 14 kmh, which works out for 5km 21:30 minutes just under 14kmh (for the 5km) Anna I don't know what's your PB for 5km, I don't know, if Anna your PB is no where near 21:30 for 5km then it as a impossible challenge for you, Anna. So Anna you shouldn't feel so bad about it because it was a impossible challenge for you to complete, not enough time (by whoever set it up) 12 minutes for 2.6 miles works out at just under 21kmh, meaning a 14:20 for 5km is needed for just under 21kmh. A impossible challenge for Anna. And I still can't believe how easy Rick had it, not giving Rick another challenge. The Running Channel would like to see another 2.6 challenge this time Rick being given impossible challenge for it and Anna just to run it.

Hi you Running Channel I like that idea of coming up with a maths challenge for Anna (and Rick) that would be awesome/mint, maybe round 3? haha. Anna should you choose to accept this maths challenge, is to solve this maths challenge and then ran 2.6 miles in 26 minutes, no calculator is aloud (if you use a calculator it's a instant fail) You Anna have 26 minutes to solve this maths challenge at the end of this message and run 2.6 miles in 26 minutes, Go. 2 + 2 = Rick should you choose to accept this maths challenge, is to solve this maths challenge and then ran 2.6 miles in 26 minutes, no calculator is aloud (if you use a calculator it's a instant fail) Rick you have 26 minutes to solve this maths challenge at the end of this message and run 2.6 miles in 26 minutes, Go. Part a, which number is the odd one out and why, 05.5623 10.2601, 11.1612, 32.4762, 10.2544, 21.2760, 07.6424 Part b, 25 x 12 - 99 - 2 + 72 - 269 x 13 - 1 + 349 x 2 - 300 - 111 + 71 x 3 - 213 + 12 - 622 + 14 - 286 x 2 - 731 = Can Anna and Rick do/pass the challenge, (will only one person do/pass it, taking the 3rd round, title) or will they both do it, Only time will tell, maybe if they both do it, it's the quickest who takes the title?

Running Channel & whoever/maths Running channel love all videos, challenges there all awesome, (look forward to all) Notice this thing, thought what the heck, what the heck lets do this 2.6 challenge (I've done 2 challenges) 2.6 challenge raising awareness for UK charities and failed them both, first did the one that Anna had, failed that one, next one (Running Channel) notice this challenge, thought what the heck, see if I can do this challenge by maths teacher?? And failed it, (done Rick challenge) found the first one easy, but boy ow boy the second bit is tough, very tough, (how the heck did you manage to come up with that) boy ow boy, had my head going around, tough very tough. Felt like cheating a lot of the time, felt like cheating, using calculator, (not going to lie over that) TO YOU BOTH/ALL, but never once used it, it took me over 11:30 minutes to complete them both (I think/hope) with right answer(s) (To all) got up to 1.6 miles and time was up, failed the challenge (with a mile to go) Challenges are way cool fun (and raising awareness for UK charities is even cooler) love fair challenges, love fair challenges to all. But have to be honest, have to one of my pet hates, is a unfair challenge, don't like it. Why not, then just like myself do this challenge by maths/whoever teacher. I ran (in other races) for guide dogs.

Question for the running channel or anybody else reading... I'm attempting my first 100 miler this year. There are 2 near me. One starts at 6 am, and the other at 4pm. The rest of the race is similar. Has anybody done an ultra that starts later in the day? If so did you find it more difficult or easier? Thanks.
@runningchannel4 жыл бұрын
Wow! What an awesome race to take part in. I'm yet to do my first 100 miler, but have done a few ultras - some starting VERY early, others usual race morning start and one that started at midday. Personally I am happy running at any time of the day and when you're going that far I guess it all comes down to personal preference. Are you a morning person? Will you find it easy to get going at 6am? Will you be anxiously waiting if you start later in the day? Have a think about your current runs and how you feel running at different times of day. And hopefully some of the Running Channel community can help you out too. Good luck! Anna

Running Channel Toughest challenge to Anna, (seemed hash) You could tell Rick not believing his luck given a piss easy 2.6 challenge, very Hash on Anna, (who gave out these challenges) but the person(s) have a thing against Anna, by giving/dishing her out with the toughest challenge, with Rick not believing his eyes. Love the video, like look to see another one, (maybe Anna being given the easy one) Rick being given the toughest one,

haha yes we would love to see Rick doing some maths equations before a run!

Anna, you should have just ran 2.6 kilometers so you would still do 2.6 something 😁

Haha yes that would have been a good solution!

Shouldn’t there some type of punishment for Anna for failing the challenge? Or maybe a reward for everyone who completed it? What’s the point of doing a challenge without a punishment or reward?
@runningchannel4 жыл бұрын
The challenge isn't about winning or losing, it's to spread awareness of the #TwoPointSixChallenge to help raise money for UK charities!
@RockySucre54 жыл бұрын
The Running Channel I feel like you can fulfill both, reward those who complete the challenge and raise money for charity at the same time. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak.
@oliverwood71904 жыл бұрын
Tim Jacobsen Maybe a punishment for Rick for having the easy challenge, and a reward for Anna for having the toughest challenge, But that's not the purspose of doing this, it's to raise awareness of the Twopointsixchallenge for UK Charities like The Running Channel states.

Oliver Wood I know it wasn’t the main purpose. I’ve stated that already.

Did Rick complete the challenge? Pretty sure he did right? There was no 'challenge complete' message? Or I missed it?
