I purchased the kit version MN90 and its brill now it has had a full metal upgrade including the 2 speed gearbox with 370 motor and all the shocks are ali oil filled. Have also changed the wheels to look more scale. Awesome bit of kit now and looks fab when towed behind my FTX Kanyon. Next job is painting in old Landy colours green and off white :)

I had bought one few months back and man I'm impressed! For the cost like you said this is a great package. So far nothing have broken. The only thing I had to do out of the box was glue the tyres properly. Other than that great stuff👌🏻

These things are awesome. Only thing holding them back is being top heavy. I've taken mine out with 1/10th rigs and been able to crawl over 90% of the trail with the big boys. Just need to pick good lines haha!

@@TomleyRC They made their own lives more difficult by positioning the front body mounts in that ugly bulge below the grille. It makes it difficult for them to give the body an opening bonnet. Yet they went and stuck the battery in the worst possible place when there´s plenty of room for it between the motor housing and the cab floor, which is where I´ve put mine. As soon as I did move it the ridiculous tail-bouncing went away and oil shocks stopped seeming such a priority!

I like how they use a half cab roof now! I love my mn99, I had over a years use on the trail with mine before upgrading. 20amp esc and some weighted c34 wheels really make a difference 🤟

I'm really quite impressed with this! Indicators are an awesome feature, but I hate them on crawlers... Who are you telling you're changing direction!?😂 What are the tyres like? I know you said they're soft but compound wise are they grippy or a cheap, no foam kind of soft?🤔

Haha yeah, agree on the indicators. As for tyres... soft but need glue and probably foams to get the best from them. As for grip.... hmmmm... £50 Crawler grip 👍🏻

There's a lot of hype over tire softness and through lots of experience on different surfaces, soft or sticky is not always good. Instead of the tire tread providing miniature "claws" on rocks, many soft tires deform instead and the lugs on the tire sort of turn under instead of remaining firm. Seems soft and sticky tires are best for climbing up a plate glass ramp...😂

Many thanks for all of these MN series videos brother. Never owned this brand of rc yet. I found the M90 kits in Red and Yellow @ HK for 35 n 40 bucks respectively In stock US warehouse to buy for my 2 boys to build. But, I found an rtr M99s at Walmart online for 67, so grabbed it for Me!- Now Im just ordering 2 more rtr 99s rather than the M90 kits due to the many upgrades for the $. You wouldn't know the Servo and Shock Dimensions off-hand would ya? Also, how are you feeling about that sweet Full-Metal Upgrade Kit? Does the weight add any Slop to the drive train? I'm curious if the Driveshafts are beefy enough and if diffs can handle a Full Metal Brushless Hill Clmbing etc.., Thats What I'm considering doing- With an AluminumTube Style Cage - no body. Or is that not a realistic option for these little guys? Anyways, Thanks again

I've not measured the shocks, but I'm sure you can find some oil ones that would improve the bounce. Other than that, any WPL upgrade 'should' work.

A285004 are 12 bucks for 4 and a good fit. open lower loops slightly with a drill bit, tops mount to the inner tray holes puts them angled but works nicely for near zero effort.

Tomley RC THIS is for you I just got the MN99s and it’s sweet but even with this ah I think 260 motor I find it to not have enough torque when crawling. My Element 24 scale literally out crawls the 99s. Do you think I’m being hard on the 99s or can it have a bigger motor or maybe gearbox? No, you are not being hard on the MN99. The 1/124 Scales are very good! The Element is pretty much the same as the RGT Adventurer V2, and I really rate that one! But you gotta think.... the MN99s is half the price!

I bought one based on this review. My experience was the complete opposite of the video title. Absolutely the worst rtr out of the box I have. I can’t believe the difference between this and my other MN models I own. Cannot get over tiny obstacles or inclines. Doesn’t do anything but stop, no fight, no hopping around trying to make its way over. Throttle is super jumpy, it’s all or nothing with its power. The turning radius is like 15 ft, and I have never seen a cheaper remote.

Hi mate, mot bad at all for the money, I'm not a fan of the micro chop board receiver/esc combo but if that's a 3 wire servo it would be simple enough to change it out for a proper esc and radio, might even get better low throttle response that way too.. I'm tempted.. 😉

I also have one, but with the full cab. The "half-cab" is more recent I think. I have an issue with mine if you could help, after I go forward and release the throttle it will keep "beeping" and flashing the main front lights like if I was slightly accelerating but I am not touching the transmitter. I was trying to tell from the video if it happens with yours, have you noticed something like that?

Bought the wrong shocks so need to adapt them to fit, but I think I've already broken the servo as it clicks when turning left... I am after a crawler but undecided on this one or the wpl. I have two 1:12 rc cars but it would cost me an absolute fortune getting at least one of them to become some sort of a crawler as i would rather spend half that money and get a one that is a crawler and have money left to buy a few upgrades

I would recommend a WPL KM (Kit) if you want to get something pretty capable. But for RTR then this is the one I'd say.
