That beat was funky but I also said straight just cause the bass was very consistent.

Need something in the track that is straight that gives context to the groove of the other elements.

Yep good point, club house music usually does have a bit of an emphasis on consistency. But when I think straight I usually think about swing, is it swinging and if so HOW much swing does it have? A nice way to think about it
