there is actually a reason why namira can never be a major power. namiras deal is the repulsive, the taboo, the socially unacceptable, if she ever amasses many followers, they would form a society in which their repulsive acts would become normalized, which means that namira wouldn't be interested in that. in general i believe that some daedric princes should remain a mystery forever, especially the likes of namira and mephala, they should influence things here and there, but they should never step out of the shadows, that's not their way.

Sheogorath suffers from the same problem you mention for Sanguine; they've both been thoroughly sanitized, to their detriment. Sanguine should be an exemplar of what happens when indulging in pleasures of the flesh, and that becomes obsessive as the excesses become more and more extreme. TES seems to have stripped the darkness out of some of the Daedric princes- Azura is portrayed as a "good" goddess, although we get a little taste of her extreme egocentrism from Nelacar.
@windhelmguard52954 жыл бұрын
one thing i was really disappointed by was the lack of daedric retribution upon creating the black star, she obviously can't really punish the dragonborn in a meaningful way, but her not punishing the dragonborn would still fit with her character as the dragonborn is fated to save solstheim, which houses loyal worshippers of the true tribunal, but she should have punished nelacar somehow, like transforming him into a dunmer or just having him die in horrible agony as azura reminds the dragonborn not to offend her again.

I completely agree, Vaermina needs more focus. She is my favorite Prince, I love the concept of a dark deity that can wreak havoc without even having to lay a finger on her chosen victim, and there are so many options Bethesda could go with to make her a great deal more menacing of a Prince to interact with. For example, there could be a game mechanic that plays off her connection to dreams and the things people fear, where your character is sucked into a pocket of Quagmire and must defeat a miniboss before they are allowed to wake up the next in-game day. Perhaps this mechanic could be the basis of a Questline, with there being a set number of nights this will happen during the quest. Each night's minibosses could be based off choices you made in earlier dialogue with the Prince herself at the beginning of the quest, where she slyly got you to admit a few of your fears or weaknesses. All this leads to your character fighting some sort of final boss, be it Vaermina or her champion/favored Dremora or even a shade of Vaermina. I've always wanted more from this specific Prince, I love her concept, but Bethesda doesn't seem to like giving her the spotlight

This is kind of touching on something that has always bothered me about TES, and which out of all the Bethesday RPGs only New Vegas ever seemed to get right: They seem to cater to children that want to get every achievement in one playthrough. You can do the quests for every daedric prince, and complete the entire questline for every guild, with few repurcussions. With daedric princes in particular, choosing to follow them should have some sort of penalty, which could perhaps be offset by making the reward even greater. But considering how the princes compete with each other, I agree there should be more interaction and choice involved.

He even has the potential of being the most powerful daedra, even if he lost his power, but he's free from his "cage of madness" at least). - Azura: goddess of the cycle and transition of day and night (she could become the goddess of time by giving the next world her sphere, the cycles and transitions).

I think that Meridia could use more support. I could picture her potential appearance in ES6 to be preceded by a random encounter with a splinter group of the Vigil of Stendarr who made a pact with her. And why not? Yes, that faction mainly hunts Daedra worshippers, but if you want to mince semantics Merida is a bit like Malacath. In that she isn't technically a Daedra. Basically, she's the Elder Scrolls equivalent of a fallen angel. And her corresponding quest could have enormous potential. Picture this: One of several quest options is to assist the splinter group in wiping out a powerful vampire coven. Their leader could be Isran's son or one of his younger relatives, voiced by Wesley Snipes. The quest itself could detail the aftermath of the Dawnguard questline canonically, and it could also involve what remains of the Vigil of Stendarr fighting the splinter group. The former is the most numerous, but the latter would have vastly superior training and greater experience, overall. If there was a reason Merida would appear in her "true" form (similar to Nocturnal during the Skyrim Thieves Guild questline) while on Nirn to broker peace between them, all the better.

I agree with you about all of the above, especially Peryite. For me personally though, I'd like to see more of Jyggalag and Malacath. While Hircine is far and away my favorite Daedric Prince, I always felt more could be done with these two: Yeah Jyggy was one of the main focuses of Shivering Isles, but there's been no word about him since. I'd love to see what effect 200+ years separated from Sheogorath and wandering Oblivion has had on the Prince of Order: Maybe he's more cunning and dangerous than ever, or maybe he's gone a bit mad himself, like someone who was "cured" but has come to miss the voices in their head. As for Malacath, he's always been something of a background daedra. Not to the same extent as the princes in this video, but he's never had the same presence in the *games* as, say Hircine, Molag Bal or Mehrunes Dagon; he's never really gone out of his way to effect change like they have. Yeah, he has some cool lore associated with him, but I'd still like to see him take a more active role as the patron god of the Orcs.

Vaermina has always been the coolest daedric prince to me, especialy the indirect aspects of her followers, would love too see a side questline about her.

Vaermina's my favorite by far. She has a surprising amount of depth to me, since she's the only daedric prince thag can easily communicate with the enitre world. She also doesn't seem entirely evil, since she gives wonderful dreams to her followers, and actually explains to visitors why they're in quagmire, rather than kill them, showing her hospitality. She also gives inspiration and creativity to those that need it, resulting in amazing potions. The only time she's ever cruel is because her stuff is in danger. Which let's be honest, we would all want to keep people from destroying or stealing our belingings

Quest idea: Sanguine has you go to this great Gatsby-esque mansion full of spectacular sights, partying, and revelry only to trap you there, forcing you to navigate through all the crazy revelry trying to find your way out. As you go further into the mansion things get more and more depraved and twisted, showing the "darker" side of Sanguine along with the realization that this kind of lifestyle may not be all its cracked up to be.

I was hoping that you were going to mention the story where Vaermina causes a group of bards to go insane and burn there college to the ground. Their ghosts still haunt the location. I hope we can see Vaermina in a quest where an omen has been put on a noble family and you have to help them lift it. Otherwise they’re killed to save them from the curse but you have to deal with exorcising their ghosts.

I wasn't on board with Sanguine until you said we should visit his realm. I can imagine it as a giant complex of taverns and brothels where you're tempting with the most outrageous stuff. Aside from Sanguine, Namira really needs some attention. She very much runs in the same vein as Vaermina as spooky for being spooky, only she's gross for being gross.
@uzaysezer95654 жыл бұрын
I think in an early video of yours about Vaermina you mentioned how her worshippers may be rewarded with essentially lucid dreams. I think this is an interesting prospect Bethesda can work on for future releases, in that Vaermina may tempt mortals to abandon their realities for a lifelong sleep filled with lucid dreams only to betray them once they expire and use their souls as she sees fit

Malacath immediately springs to mind. Sure, we hear about him being Trinimac, and all that, but besidesa few mentions, we don't really see or hear much of him in the games besides his realm having a literal spine, and him liking Orcs, Ogres, and other similar species. Maybe we could have some quests that show off his nature, where you have to help social pariahs and outcasts, and maybe throw in some moral conundrum, and maybe a few of his tenets that the Orcs follow so closely (maybe have that as a race-exclusive bit of content (?))... Just something besides "I like ugly things".

Sanguine is one of my favorite Daedric Princes and love his staff and his realm in Skyrim. As for Vaermina I like her name but dislike her evilness and always choose to let the priest dude destroy the skull. Also would like more development for all the Daedric Princes and maybe a questline where a group of extreme vigilants of stendarr have figured out how to open gates into the realms of the Daedra to try and destroy them all and you get called upon to defeat those extremists.

The fact that I had forgotten about Sanguine and Vaermina entirely when thinking of what three could be discussed says enough about their need for more content. Regarding Peryite I'd say you need to have a quest where you have to spread a disease you contracted enough before you succumb to it yourself. You will have to chose where to bring it, and chose where the death toll is necessary/convenient for you. Do you risk killing some vendors in the larger city or do you risk wiping out a smaller settlement? Do you abandon your quest and cure yourself before the task is complete or do you incur the wrath of Peryite for setting out to heal the plague you brought after claiming your reward.

I have this idea for DLCs for ES6, basically it’s about time. In Vaermina’s dawnstar quest you use dreams to explore the past and enter areas you can’t enter otherwise. For this dlc you’d be solving a mystery that not necessarily involves Vaermina on its own, but the only way to solve them is through the dreamstrider potion (if I recall correctly). As you progress through the storyline you develop a real need to sleep, and the further you progress the more likely you are to experience a nightmare. At the end you’d get the option to either solve the mystery but you remain permanently tied to Vaermina’s influence or confront the daedric prince and break free but the mystery remains unsolvable. The second dlc in mind involves the use of elder scrolls. Have you ever noticed there has never been a new game+ in an ES game? Well in this dlc instead of just gazing the past you actually get to live through it and have agency in it and how things turn out which would affect the present. At the end you’d get the option to use the elder scrolls to return to the beginning of the game with all the gear, skills and knowledge you have, causing a dragon break. Like in a quest you go to the past and stop the destruction of a village and then after causing the dragon break it is a small city, but not everyone acknowledges its existence for example because it is supposed to be some random ruins. Unlike other games with this feature you would have more options in the main questlines and endings that can’t be attained otherwise. For example, in the base game 2 to 3 factions are fighting each other, but regardless of which one you choose before the dragon break you’ll only achieve a partial victory. But during the dragon break you could act based on the things you aren’t supposed to know yet and attain a full victory. You could also apply this to dlc questlines.

I full heartily agree with vaermina being on this list, I'm a huge fan of the dark and creepy factor of things and touching someone's psyche through dreams is a terrifying thought. Even shegorath should appreciate that lol
@psychicwizard4 жыл бұрын
I could see a good potential storyline or dlc storyline that goes something like: periyte with his followers caused a mass plague and famine in one of the provinces, only the ES6 hero can stop it with the help of rival daedra and other means. You would also have to deal with a large and growing cult of cannibals who dedicate themselves to Namira as food is scarce due to the famine and plague. Just spitballing but I think that could fit into a new game nicely and would expand on two of the most overlooked daedra.
@calebkopp76364 жыл бұрын
Imo I want all the daedra to feel less one dimensional, because they kinda are, at least in Skyrim. Legitimately I could not tell you a single difference in how Dagon and Malacath act in that game. Imo the best way to do this is to give the daedra quest LINES, letting you see them more intricately. Dagon could have you start a revolution as you see all the bloody affairs the come with it alongside actual intrigue and subterfuge. Let's see him be charming and try to convince you to join him. Malacath could send you to help several separate Orcish tribes before having you pick one to conquer the rest, showing his tough love parentage of the orcs. Have Sheogorath basically hire you as a stage hand to turn others to madness. You sit in the back and cause specifical effects to break the opponents mind while we see Sheogorath show more than just his lol random side. Have him be dark and depressing with one victim, then use sound logical debate to drive another man crazy. Have him gaslight one npc then make another dissassociate. Namira wants to recruit a new follower, but the problem is he's not an outcast, so you go through several quests sabotaging ever facet of this man's life just so she can play hero. But most importantly, let the character betray them. Make it so you can act in opposition to their goals, so you can see how they react to betrayal.

given how a lot of these games can have a Daedra in the center of the conflict at times, I think it would be interesting to see what would happen if Clavicus Vile got a real foothold in the world. I know he's had a bit more personality as compared to the ones in the video, but he's mostly been shown as a trickster that might cause pain to one person or a small group, so it'd be interesting to find him behind a major leader, having done some kind of trade with a larger impact, perhaps even out of boredom. Could also expand on the lore regarding Umbra, as perhaps you'd need them to be able to fix what Clavicus has done.

I was running a Elder Scrolls 5th edition campaign for friends and use Sanguine and his realm/followers as a fun side adventure and random encounter. (I ripped part of it from the Interesting NPC's mod for skyrim) where they found this tower where there's a dark elf who absolutely hated the races of men and summoned a Dremora Valkynaz from a scroll he was given by one Sain Guenvere, a dark elf wizard who was passing by. The dark elf instructed this Dremora to kill the men that were lured to the tower and was tricked. The dremora would bring people into a pocket dimension to an eternal party where they reveled and lusted drinking enchanted alcohol and eating enchanted food so they would never want to leave. There are several random encounters in my world that are tied to this dimension that I have decided could be part trap but also part rest stop and relief. I've included scrolls at certain merchants which allow the party to travel here however every time they leave this pocket realm of Oblivion they don't remember the encounter or what they learned about the spiked food and drink, only a vague idea that they know this place from somewhere.

elder scrolls game where the daedric princes go to war with each other. the various clashes between their spheres cause issues on nirn, in game events perhaps either as side quests, events comparible to oblivion gates and dragon attacks, or both. sheigorath would be neutral and just casuaing general mayhem of course, but it would be interesting to see the philosophical conflicts of two spheres, say peryite's natural order vs jyggalag's version of order play out as real destruction to a city in tamriel somewhere

...actually, although you said you'd prefer otherwise, I think you just sold me on Peryite being the driving force of 6. Maybe it's... our current situation speaking, but a massive plague caused by Peryite to restore balance would be an elegant solution to the Thalmor's world domination, cutting the legs out from the Summerset Isles and Cyrodil (allowing an independent Skyrim regardless of the player's choice) and leaving all the nations too weak to take advantage of the chaos - except the Argonians, who need more love and lore anyway, possibly leading to an expansion of the Hist.
