This knife looks great, especially given 3 hours! I think you could still sell it... Too bad about the partizan, yours was by far the best looking and forged!

The outcome was a total bummer but the judges reactions to John work along with Phil's comment on johns hammer work was awesome.

Kind of sucked... The other guy with the spear cut his out, and he completely forged it and even forged the nail

That is a badass knife. There is no shame in a useful tool, no matter the looks. I dig the rustic look, looks likes something straight out of the old west.

I love this channel because he does everything by hand. He doesn't use a power hammer, don't get me wrong, those channels are cool too. But doing everything by hand is awesome!

Looks ok for a 3 hour complete knife. Handle and all. Hell you had time to spare. Great job! I think you upset someone who shall remain nameless when you told him it needed a handle.

Have you ever tried making Viking Torcs or arm rings? They would be a neat addition to your viking jewelry on your Etsy. Besides that, I love your work!

That is a great box opener! Nice, nice, nice! I happen to like the rough finished look, it gives the knife character. You know it is hand made.

Nicely done John! I understand what you're saying about the fit and finish, but for a < 3 hour to show completed, it's definitely better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick! Keep up the good work brother!

Great job as usual and great performance on FIF. It's usually just one minor decision that separates champion from runner up. You represented yourself very well. I would love to see you recreate that spear. One tiny tweak and you absolutely would have won.

Lauren Totani yeah it’s one of those Angele tek ones form Germany. It’s pretty good. A few things I’d change but all in all it’s a sweet piece of kit

What kind of drill bit did you use to get through the tang after heat treatment? I've tried titanium but they aren't great...

Chris M. It was just a cle line high speed steel drill bit. Whenever I quench I’m always careful keep the tang out of the oil and let it cool on it’s own

Sometimes the hardening does creep back there though so drilling after you’ve put a block on can be a gamble.
