Dude that knife is beautiful, would have taken me days but you took 3 hours, you have a lot of talent
@thijs35145 жыл бұрын
This knife looks great, especially given 3 hours! I think you could still sell it... Too bad about the partizan, yours was by far the best looking and forged!
@culchieman19953 жыл бұрын
i dig the rustic look of that, even for a 3 hour knife it looks like it'd stand up to a lot of use

The outcome was a total bummer but the judges reactions to John work along with Phil's comment on johns hammer work was awesome.

Kind of sucked... The other guy with the spear cut his out, and he completely forged it and even forged the nail
@batman45anger5 жыл бұрын
True that. You could tell David Baker was upset for he loved it, as did I for it didn't look like it's from a comic or video game.

What kind of drill bit did you use to get through the tang after heat treatment? I've tried titanium but they aren't great...
@OldHickoryForge5 жыл бұрын
Chris M. It was just a cle line high speed steel drill bit. Whenever I quench I’m always careful keep the tang out of the oil and let it cool on it’s own

Sometimes the hardening does creep back there though so drilling after you’ve put a block on can be a gamble.
